Mr. Raj Kumar Sangwan has truly been a pioneer in Indian boxing. His remarkable achievements-world number 4, Asian Champion, and India’s first heavyweight professional boxer in 1996, are even more impressive considering the lack of media attention or government support during those times. He’s not only set records but has also dedicated himself to growing the sport in India. For the future of sports in this country, it’s essential that selfless contributors like him are given the recognition they deserve.

It's time we shed more light on the incredible stories of athletes like Mr. Raj Kumar Sangwan and his contemporaries, who were never given their due during their careers. Despite achieving so much, they received little to no monetary incentives, high-profile jobs, or public recognition. Yet, even today, they continue to dedicate themselves to the growth of sports in India. Their experience, commitment, and selfless love for the sport deserve far more recognition. The government must involve these legends in decision-making bodies, as their insights could transform the future of Indian sports.
