@@kassanova1911 especially because they actually translated the lyrics on screen. They usually have his lyrics in Spanish which would make it super annoying to try and use google translate and find out what he’s saying. But they’re right there on the screen for this one

@@AlmostJokingPod With peace and respect, that dude not a baby. He using his native language to reach a whole other group of listeners and be a bridge to where he came from. As well as flowing in English. And he's ill in both languages. That being said, I aint ever looked at a masterful painting and shit on it because I didnt know how to paint. The man is doing more at a higher level than most, that's the reality.

Because We'd be pausing every line jus to comprehend it lol while we can read English faster as we hear it cuz we know it but it's way slower comprehending subtitles when u have a beat rhythm and flow to follow too. Also for the record I don't wanna hear any Spanish music in English either

Totally agree @fayerwashington51, I was really enjoying this reaction until Rios' turn, not because of Rio but because of the reactors. This has been like my 15th reaction video of Coast and this is the 1st time someone dislikes something. Some people appreciate 1 culture, and some people appreciate all cultures.

@@AlmostJokingPod You do realize that most viewers ARE fully comprehending Rio's bars when reading English subtitles while simultaneously appreciating his voice, cadence, flow, performance, and rhyming without an issue, right? That's WHY you are getting such backlash! Clearly, others (including the 20 or so other reactors I've watched for this freestyle thus far) aren't having the same issue. If we weren't doing so ourselves, we'd agree with your response. Other reactors are catching everything and even explaining certain aspects of Rio's bars that I didn't immediately understand because I wasn't familiar with the reference. Honestly, this is the first reaction video I've watched that had such a negative reaction to Rio's part. At least recognize that the issue is NOT that Rio is rapping in another language nor that his verses were "weaker" than the others. It's simply that you can't mentally and auditorily multi-task fast enough to enjoy non-English verses with subtitles. No shame in that. I think the core issue that is causing others to react so strongly is that you didn't even bother to try! Worse, you made it sound like it wasn't worth the effort. So, you came across as biased and lazy rather than unable. Trust that viewers wouldn't have cared if you stopped the video 50 times if it appeared you wanted to give Rio's verses the same respect as the others. I was enjoying your reaction until Rio's part, so will check out other Coast videos hoping to see a more open-minded approach. ❤

I enjoyed the rest of your reaction very much but was really shocked at how against reading his (already translated) bars you were... This gave me the vibe of someone who is a major 'foodie' not wanting to eat at a highly rated restaurant just because that restaurant doesn't have a drive through. Like you have every right to pass on it, but if you like food as much as you say, do you realize how many flavors/dishes you're missing out on by only eating at places with a drive through? "I'm sure theres great food in there, but I ain't trying that shit without a drivethrough" is exactly how it felt... "Keep driving, I can't be bothered to park and go in" just doesn't make sense if you really are about the food, which it seemed like you both are.

It’s for sure engineered. I love coast and it being engineered doesn’t take anything away from they’re skill. But it’s for sure laid down in the studio then record a music video for it essentially.

Yeah it's pre recorded... You can even tell when they zoom in and zoom out the other members that aren't rapping will be doing something totally diffrent then what they were doing not even a second before. Their arms will be in a different position ect....

Right, even if you don't speak Spanish, you could feel Rios was killing that shit. And rapping uses approximate rhyme so it doesn't have to be the simple rhyme scheme you're into.

The reason they use subtitles is so people can catch the wordplay. This is actually the first freestyle where they translated Rio's verse. Up till now even the subtitles have been IN Spanish. I don't speak it but can catch words here and there but the dope part is that the Spanish words rhyme while the English does not. They reside in Cali so the Spanish connection for Rio works as well as in other countries around the world. Hip Hop is global, you got Emcees from every part of the globe and they don't rap in English.....

As we stated in the video.. just because we don't understand don't mean it wasn't good.. if someone from Japan started rapping I wouldn't understand it either.. don't mean it ain't good just mean I don't get it..I don't understand my woman complaining all the time either lol it's life

It’s called a freestyle in the sense that it’s a song without traditional song structure (verse, chorus, bridge…etc.). There’s no specific or pre-structured style for the track.

Not really we never made fun of him, we jus don't wanna read another rappers rap or learn a new language to understand a verse.

Yeah ppl crazy if they think this was one take. I actually engineer too... this was most def pre recorded and they kept it sounding more natural vs studio quality. All the moving they were doing and how they was bumping mics you would've most def heard the difference in it .. still was dead dope though! To be real, it's what I would do too just for sound quality
