Coastal's are my favorite next to Golden Trout. I'm fortunate to live close to an area that has them. I would publish the videos but its too good of a fishery so I just watch it myself lol. Congrats on the video and marriage.
Don't think too hard about catching the searuns. If you find them, they are very aggressive will take almost anything you throw at them. Swing a skater or wetfly or strip a streamer on floating line. Pick whatever leader is easiest for you to cast cause they aren't leader shy. I almost always start the day with a standard 5x 7.5' leader just because i have a bunch and its nice to cast on my 3wt creek rod.. But there are times when I just use junk leaders or straight 8lb maxima. For fun, I sometimes use a micro skagit and a sink tip to get deep but its really not necessary. They have no problem coming up for a fly that's nearer the surface. Plus, this time of year, if you get too deep, you could hook a king in some rivers.
We were using floating line and just straight 6lb Maxima Ultragreen. Only using tapered leaders if the dry flies are getting tossed. Thanks for watching!
