How lucky James is having a dad who knows it all about the sea and shore line and he has a mum who can show him how to cook everything, nice to see Mrs fish locker getting stuck in i always feel hungry after watching her cook things lol and i have just had my evening meal; James cracked me up with his lazy garlic and so nice yummy he's a star in the making god bless you all.

Thank You for reminding me what it is like to enjoy the fresh food on the beach. I used to live in the north of California USA and back then (40 years ago) I used to do very much the same thing that you show right here. Anyone that is watching this series I can tell you from personal experience that this is not a staged video, what you see is exactly what you will find! I moved to the southern United States (Florida on the Gulf Coast) and kind of (for lack of a better word) out grew the hunting. Thank You again for reminding me what it is like to beach hunt. We have such lovely beaches here on the Gulf Coast away for the tourists, I guess you could say that you re-awoke me and now I have decided it is time to quit paying for some "farm" to raise this food and go back out and enjoy the beaches and the FREE MEALS that the seas provide us every day. Thank You once again for opening my eyes to what I out grew and missed, Have a GREAT 2020 and keep sharing your videos with the world.

Those shellfish you call limpets, I think are what we call opihi in Hawaiian. And the "winkles"? I think are pipipi. All are super yummy. Geez, I'm as excited here as James was there. Lol

I like how you explain everything I stumbled apron your channel randomly and I love it! I did not know you could find so many different things in seaweed. I actually would want to do this but I feel like i would get pinched by a crab or lobster. I like how your family all contributes to the cooking, everything looks good when you guys cook it! As soon as the tire was up "The Fuzz! Scatter!" I love watching these. I'm not a huge seafood fan meself as where I'm from we're fairly landlocked. Closest ocean is a province away and we've plenty of cattle and such, but watching you videos makes me want to give it another go. PS - the prawns in this one ended up with voices like my Welsh uncle. :)

I can't get enough of the coastal foraging I did it as a kid growing up on Canvey Island with winkle sandwiches a Sunday treat if we had company down from London, also eating raw rock oysters while fishing the Thames estuary, good to see the young lad getting involved too teach them these basic skills they will survive anywhere, great show 👍

I love shellfish - especially as fresh as this! Your misses is right - butter, chilli, garlic & lime juice is perfect for prawns. If I've got a few each of mussels, cockles, winkles, and clams (or just clams on their own) then I make spaghetti (or other pasta) di mare - finely chopped onion, garlic, red pepper, fresh tomato sauce, oregano, parsley, basil, black pepper, pinch salt, pinch sugar. Bloody fantastic! If just mussels then sweated finely chopped shallots, garlic, white wine reduction, add mussels and then a dash of double cream and chopped parley when open. Warm baguette for dipping in the sauce! If just cockles and winkles then just lemon juice! Same with scallops after frying in butter although you can also add a splash of soy sauce to bring out the umami f you like that taste. With crab it's got to be mayonnaise and brown bread! Well that's that for my World's Most Delicious Rockpool Recipes suggestions :-)

I love it how I'd be walking along this same stretch of beach thinking 'Seaweed, seaweed, shells, seaweed'. Meanwhile, during my stroll, you'd be finding enough seafood to give a good cook-up for your family! It's heartwarming to watch your conservation in these videos also, putting back and leaving the smaller crabs, etc.

SO.....I live in the High Plains of New Mexico USA, which is just as dry and landlocked as it sounds like. but I was born in England and I told my husband that someday I would take him to the shore to do just this.

years ago my grandad would cook up a big pot of winkles and we would sit there on a saturday watching grandstand picking them out with a pin ,used to love all the fresh shellfish back in the day!
