Coastal Photography: North Devon Coast

Landscape Photography at Hartland Point and Hartland Quay on the north Devon coast. For the Easter weekend we took a quick trip to Hartland in North Devon. The weather was grey and windy, but we thought this would work well for coastal photography using long exposures and black and white images.

Wow, so weird. When I saw you had posted a video I thought to myself "after seeing several of your videos (I'm a fairly new subscriber) I wonder whether we'll ever see Hannah". I clicked to start the video and you walked into frame closely followed by her and you both shared camera time which I really enjoyed. You are a very lucky man, Sam ~ she is gorgeous! Wonderful images and I especially liked the penultimate image you showed us.

Thanks John, yes I am very lucky! The idea of this channel was that we would do more joint vlogs as I don't think there are many channels around that do that. We often go out photogrpahing independently so it's not always possible to do it this way but we are keen to do this more. Also Hannah often goes out to do more wildlife photography which is pretty hard to vlog so by default my solo trips tend to end up as more videos than her wildlife trips but hopefully she will have more videos coming up soon! The penultimate image is my favourite as well, thank you! Sam.

Thank you Julian, it's a great location! I was in Dartmoor for the next video and i think for some reason i'd always overestimated the distance of Devon from Bristol. Will definitely be heading back for more visits!

Thanks Tom, it's a good job I didn't know you guys were making that video that weekend, I would have sneaked into shot in the background! It's a great location and I'll definitely be back! Really keen to get onto that beach and take some shots with the rocks leading into the sea. Funnily enough I was also on Dartmoor last weekend for the next video not far from Foggintor Quarry where you shot your video. Think I need to head to Devon more often! It was great to see you and Chris collaborating, and looking forward to seeing the results of your trip to the Lake District later in the year as well! Sam.

Sam and Hannah Bose Photography hahaha...love Dartmoor there’s so many locations to shoot!! Hartland is ideal you got the quay and the headland at the light house and I vlogged at black church rock a while back! That’s well worth a visit! I’m the same still to get a sunset with the leading lines on the beach!

Hi David, thank you! I've just had a look at your channel trailer and really looking forward to watching some of your other videos! I've actually never been to Anglesey so would be really keen to see some of the locations, you had some fantastic images in the trailer! I've actually just got back from Snowdonia where I go from time to time so I'm sure a trip a little further will need to be on the cards at some point! Sam.

There was some wonderful shots there but for me the B&W of the lighthouse was the stand out image. The lighthouse itself though small in the frame grabs your attention immediately almost leaping out if the screen.

Thanks Chris, I was actually inspired to give the Nik collection a go on this image after seeing your minimalism video and it worked really well. Thanks for putting me on to these filters, really useful for black and white! Tom mentioned this was the same weekend you guys did the video in Bude so I was just around the corner!
