Enjoyed the video James and Mark, but I hoped that the results would have been super amazing as I ordered my F9 driver yesterday (White, Left, 10.5, PX Hzdrus Smoke Black 60 6.0). Looking forward to getting more into golf this year.
Had a very similar experience on a recent demo day, tried several mfrs, tried the Cobra with various shafts, but the dispersion was greater than wanted. Ended up with a TM M6 w/ Tensei ck 60- very forgiving, great distance. ied the Cobra & several
Even if you just go to the F8 you'll notice a huge difference. I just traded my F6 for an F8 and gained 10-15 yards and more accuracy. Plus you can find them used for around 120pounds or 135dollars in really great condition
Bring back the red trousers!! Cool review!! I think it is cool how you can really easy change loft and the shaft on this high end clubs nowdays!! I am just getting back into golf since late last summer!!
I bought one off the back of the hype from the likes of you. Couldn’t hit it in a straight line 🙁 disappointed so traded it back for a Calloway epic flash 👍goes miles.
You have done it again Robo, good review and test. Would like to know more about shaft weights before I order my next new driver 👍 oh and do you know any mid handicappers for testing that aren't so tall
100 red trousers comments, you should both wear a pair! Embrace the flair! James, your probably my favorite RU-vid golf instructor at the moment. Would love to meet you someday and get a lesson!
Can we have a vote on the color of Mark’s trousers for each video he’s in? I’d vote for lime green, like the ones people wore in the 80s! You know, the stretchy ones?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m a beginner just started this year. Cobra f9 has dropped to $250. I’ve got it knocked down to a couple. Cleveland launcher hb, cobra f9, Callaway xr. There’s a couple more but for price point the f9 seems like it’s going to be my pick. I’m currently just hitting a strata beginner driver, strata 3 wood, strata 5 hybrid which I’m going to keep in my bag because it’s my best club right now, strata irons 5-9 and pitch and putter with Cleveland 588 wedges 51,56,60 degree. I maybe interested in changing up the irons too later but I’m getting what I want from them right now. I absolutely need a driver though as it’s already gotten a dent around the neck but any suggestions. Will not pay over 250 nor will I buy used because I don’t trust used. Thanks
sting5112002 I was just about to buy the g400 max this week (after waiting for months for the price to drop) and then I tried the g410 plus. The plus is better, easier and goes further. Despite not being billed as super forgiving, I can tell you it is! I play off of 15 and thought I couldn’t get better than the g400 max- well the 410 plus is! It might be due to the fact you can change the lie a little bit flatter, or maybe the shaft just suited me more. I don’t know. All I know is, as an average golfer I was bombing that 410 👍🏻
take out the last 2 when you told him to stand on it ,, that way you can get a better average from his regular swing .. heck I am not a pro and I know that should be done ..
Not sure why I had a problem with the F9 at address but the head falls closed when I put it on the ground. Seems I’m always correcting alignment with it.
I can hit consistently 210 220 with bad slice. If I get a good hit it’s going anywhere from 250-270 even absolutely out done myself on the range and carried 290 a couple times but if I can get it straight I can bomb to be a beginner
To me a driver comparison only makes sense if the driver is fitted for the player. Seems to me that Mark got the Cobra in his hands without being fitted for it. Couldn’t see all the numbers but backspin (almost 3000) and launch seemed to be fairly high. I think Mark would have had better results if he got fitted for the driver. And yes bring back the red trousers 😜👍🏽
Agree. Mark's swing can be inconsistent, and I think he should try to tee it a smidgen lower. (No knock on Mark. Good sport, and really helpful I think.) But a different shaft should be tried. I think this driver was borrowed from Aveerage Golfer, so might be hard for James to screw around with it.
Kim Hannemann lowering the loft brings down spin and there is a adjustable hosel.. ..so when Mark launches high enough than with the lower spin the ball would go further. And agree that “Red Trouser Mark” 😜 is a great sport and will be a mid handicapper for only a short period of time 🏌️😜....go down to single figures Mark 👍🏽
@@Raymond-sj7cn Not sure where Mark was hitting on the clubface; my impression from the video was that he was a little high on the face on a few hits. That was the reason for my suggestion on tee height.
James, Matt Bellamy the guitarist and vocalist for the great band MUSE has worn red trousers quite a lot over the years, sooooooooooo, just saying. Now that that has been taken care of, I'm like you I would have thought the numbers would have been better for your mid handicap player. Would a shaft better fit to him made a great difference, I know it would have for me, just saying. The Project X shaft is NOT for me, I can't hit it out of my shadow, found that out with the Cobra Bio Cell driver that came with one, I had the tip sleeve of and put on one of my favorite shafts in a matter days and was hitting it very very far, just saying.
I have never worn a pair of RED TROUSERS.....But, make Mark wear them next time with a lollie pink polo top PS: James, for future reference it's not uncapable it's incapable - Gee, an Aussie teaching an Englishman correct pronunciation.
