I bought the F9. I love it. Something about the shape at the back just makes me feel like i can control it, and because i feel confident about it, i tend to hit it better. Golf's played mostly in your head (i think quite a few more qualified people than me have said that) and the F9 works brilliantly for me.
Great comparison. I got custom fit for the F9 at Club Champion NJ. Same day/same shaft (Accra fx 2.0 365 M4) and got on avg. 3 mph faster ball speed compared to TS3 and Epic Flash SubZero. Averaged 2,400 rpm spin and 1.49 smash factor. Great fit for me. Didn’t compare to the G410 since it wasn’t available in early feb. F9 rules, feel/sound is unparalleled. Got it Artic White With Matte finish on 1/2 the crown.
Stephen DiBari....I actually thought the same about the F9 until I hit the 410+ with some hot melt added neutral but forward. The feel and sound of the G410plus with the added hot melt is even better than the F9. I NEVER thought I would say that. Its like a composite driver and persimmon wood had a baby. I cannot explain just how good the hot melt changes the G410
juggernaut0629 I sold my F9 head just a few weeks ago. (Also 3W , 5W). It wasn’t forgiving enough with weight forward, had a 2 way miss all year and I wasn’t the only person who is saying this. I’ve seen many comments on RU-vid saying the same. I’ve purchased a Ping G410+ new and haven’t hit it. (Recovering from rotator cuff surgery in December 2019). I actually bought G410+ 3W , 5W, 3H and 4-H also.all off eBay in very good condition (3 wood is head only and virtually new). Will be Going for a custom fit in the early summer. Going up against MAVRIK, SIM MAX and maybe Mizuno ST200 Same comaparisons for fairway woods & hybrids
I love my Ping g410 set to draw and 10 degrees. Had a fitting and replaced my g400 max. Have just about eliminated my slice. I will be using this one for a while.
Got a fitting and put the F9 in my bag. Tried many others (Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, Titleist) but the Cobra F9 went straighter with smaller dispersion. Much better than my previous driver (Taylormade - which I was not fit for). Agree with Michael Newton - get fitted to make sure that whatever you get works for you.
Hi mike , I've tested the ts2 ...the m6...cobra f9......epic flash...ping 400 max and the ping G 410... all fitted for and against my current dr PING G driver. None were better other than The 410 was the the better for me by a long way in length, spin and dispersion . This is a great club I feel very confident with it . Good review.👍
I took a G 410 Plus home yesterday Michael. I wanted to see how much I like it. I love the adjustment system on it. I tried an M 6 by Taylormade but I think the adjustment system on it is more complicated than the Ping. It plays well too. Looking forward to using it again today. My first round with it yesterday was great. Its already getting chilly in New England. It will be only 60 degrees at tee off time this morning 7 am here on the East Coast of the United States. Good review! Be well Michael. Spider Dubiel
I have both of these drivers currently. Love the F9, I have to work with the Ping G410+ more I've only hit it today during a round didn't like it but i'm gonna work with it... ...we'll see
Michael. I just did an extensive custom fitting for the Cobra F9 and for me personally ended up in the extra stiff smoke hazardous, 9 degrees with 18g vs the stock 14g weight upfront. That driver for me when from ludicrous to bonkers. I recommend trying that setup. Never know you might just take the RU-vid challenge with it!
Interesting video Mike... Seems you weren't swinging at your best. When you tested the F9 against the Mizuno, you were carrying an avg 280 with a total distance over 300. But that what's interesting about this comparison. I want to see these clubs on a bad day.. lmao I dont bomb them over 300. I want to see the off hits and the reaction to the clubs. I tested both these clubs, I liked the G410 better
Great Review! Seems like the G410 is straighter for you and better dispersion however the F9 had the weight in the front so it might be straighter with the weight in the back and not as long...but that was an interesting review I don't know if I should give up my G400Max yet for one of these I want more distance but I still need to hit is Straight....Always thank you for the review.
Coming from a Ping Rapture V2 which I was fitted for quite a while ago, spin numbers are excellent. In my fitting between the G410 and the F9 my spin numbers on the G410 were super high, went with the F9. Not sure it's significantly better than the Rapture V2 though.
I believe that PING are very near to releasing the new G410 LST and it will be interesting to see how it performs, I would imagine that it will be an ideal fit for you.
The best thing to do is to test all these things and get properly fitted for you the player. All these videos of compare are nice to watch but reality is everyone is different. For me the cobra won out just got it yesterday. But properly fitted I went through four stock shafts to find the one that fit me, so watch the videos but to get the one that best suits you you really need to go get yourself fitted not just listen to compare videos and what RU-vid compares win out. Side note, not saying these guys making these videos are giving bad information or bad videos. But to know what fits you, you have to go properly get fitted.
The Cobra was at least capable of lower spin. The Ping never came under 2400, although decently low still. Your last Cobra drive, had it been up on ball speed, might have been nearer to 310. Couldn't say that about the Ping.
For Me, I've seen spin rates in the 1600's with a hot melted G410+. Which is too low. But on avg 1900-2200. I've never seen the F9 break 2100. Which is still perfectly fine. But the 410 was just a bit more of a tighter dispersion, & straighter than the F9. I could game either club. But I kept the 410 & sold the F9 because the ping felt & sounded BETTER.
Older video now but wasn’t subscribed yet, carry the F9 driver with the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue regular flex shaft and quite like it, not as long as the stock shaft but more accurate.
interesting Video Mike ,my numbers last week were very similar to yours on the launch monitor and I noticed your drives were best on the lower spin numbers ,my average spin was 2200 with srixon two piece range balls launching at around 11degrees .In your opinion is 2200 spin good with driver and would I get much difference in numbers with say a titliest pro v1x ,spin lower or higher than the srixons .
When the Titleist C16 came with their concept driver in 2016, I was fitted and won't be considering anything else for a number of years, if ever. At 73, the C16 is just fine and has materials well in advance of even this year, and more.
Bryan Hylok Sure hate ping products except putters. I do play a ping putter have for 30 years. So I guess I don’t guess I hate all their products. I guess I’m high
What brand of rug is that that you are wearing? I love your content but can't stop looking at that carpet tile. Just shave your head if you have a slap head thing going on
