This song has been playing on radios and on tv EVERYWHERE for a long time, so I had the idea to "remix" the track and to give it something extra, in the hopes of giving you guys a fresh take on the song you've probably heard a million times. I asked my good friend JP Smit (guitar genius, WHAT a legend) to write and record some little electric parts of the song, and it ended up giving the song an EPIC rock edge the original didn't have! STOKED.
In terms of the drumming, SUCH a cool song to groove to! Could do cool little groovy patterns in the verses, and the choruses are powerful enough to make space for some solid 4/4 driven rock playing, my crashes weren't too happy but oi.. ample fun. Respect to Mr Adam Young for creating a very very cool vibe.
Just as a sidenote (for the audio engineers and mixer who might be wondering) NO replacement or triggering was done in this mix. Every single stroke you hear was just eq'd, mixed, and compressed; I didn't layer or trigger or replace anything.

Cohen Sadleir Cobus' talent is way up there. Cobus has a talent that he can listen to a song, create a very good arrangement of the song on the drumset, and can produce very high quality and stellar drum covers. This doesn't mean that Braden isn't a good drummer. Everyone takes different amounts of time to develop skills. Braden could be a great drummer, and could just be very humble about his playing. You don't know how good he is.

Hands down, Fireflies is now a better song. Sorry, Owl City! Everything about this cover is PERFECT, from the amount of overdrive on the guitars, to the tuning of the snare! Favorite part is at 2:36 how good the wailing crash cymbal fits in with the song!

If you took care of Cobus, you'd know that cobus started recording videos without a huge quality and he was awesome, he has always done everything by himself and he evoluted step by step. So don't say he's here now thanks to his money, he's only here now thanks to his amazing talent. And btw, Luke Holland is a monster, technically yes, but he has no feeling, no personnality, whereas cobus, more than his skills, seems to have the time of his life everytime he's drumming, and that makes the diff !

Shompenify1 this song is nothing more then a "basic" song to play. there isnt anything at all complex about this and how he plays. any player with average skills could probably play and freestyle this song. that being said i like both cobus and coop equally.

None, they have different styles, and based on the videos, we can't make a fair judge. Cooper does almost daily videos, so he doesn't have a chance to prepare a super elaborate cover, on the other hand Cobus does one series a year aprox. he has a lot of time to prepare his covers. But in my opinion, they're both amazing, and enjoy seeing all of them
