Mel,you are one of the best ever, you put on great concerts, sang your heart on every song and brought me back to country music after my just pop faze.I won't talk about you in the past tense, because you will live forever!
Me and a friend of mine drove around through the western and southern states in 1979 and I remember we kept hearing this tune on the radio all the time.
RIP Mel. You were from the era of real country music and there will never be another era like it. So glad to have been a part of that time -- Cash, Nelson, Reeves, Jennings, Rich, Haggard, Lynn, Mandrell, Cline, Clark, Anderson, Acuff, Owens and "For The. Good Times" singer and many others I'm forgetting. Thank you for overcoming the bullies and sharing your talent.
I love this song and the lyrics! "Your just a coca-cola cowboy. You got an eastwood smile and Robert Redford hair. But you walked across my heart like it was Texas. And you taught me how to say "I just don't care!" Love love love it!!!!!!!!!
This was when country was country!!! This is when A singer Like Mel Tillis could just stand there and sing and tear your heart out doin it! Thanks for this video!
@Buddy Mathis Let me say this, I'm gay. I love classic country. Now, if today's country music lovers are gay fucks then so be it. Let them be who they want. There's no need to call names. Who gives you that right. I also like some music that is out there today.
Such a sad, sad day for me another member of my life has gone........ it is getting more and more difficult just to remember their faces..... BUT I know I will see them again, GOD HAS ANOTHER MEMBER FOR HIS CHOIR TODAY ALWAYS LOVED YOU MEL
