@lotabelle1276 you need him to allow you to take control of his income. Only then he will stop, eventually his brain will disassociate with the pattern and his addiction will be put off long enough to get things in his life he is proud of

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately the drugs completely change people it did with me, you say anything to keep people off your back and get money, i understand your frustration, try not to give up on him completely, he is not well! One day he’ll wake up and realise what’s happened. For some people it takes longer than others.

as a previous addict myself, you have to stop enabling him by giving money, help by encouraging him to hangout with people that don't use, remind him of his hobbies/strengths, have him talk to you about his feelings & where he is coming from without judgement, play positive music around them, be there, without being there, y'know? show appreciation to every small effort, appreciation can go a long way. Eliminate any source of income that you might be providing for him though, unless you, yourself are personally picking products up yourself that you know are food/necessities for them. as shitty as it is, there were plenty of times I had asked family members for money making excuses up saying that I needed it for food, or to cover my phone bill, whatever it was that I could say to get money from them & I would usually get it too, the shitty thing is that I usually did actually need those things I would say I would use the money on but never actually would once I got it, instead I'd get high & more miserable by the next day being in the same position, get him to pick out some goodfood meal boxes online that you can cook together as something to do. what I'm trying to say though is that sometimes saying no is the best thing you can do, in the moment it feels like shit & things might be said to you that aren't from the heart of the user, know that.
