Dr. Cooper, I had a natural birth 32+ years ago. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours using an overhead bar where my arms/head were in front of it and my legs were behind it! I have suffered coccyx ever since! During my 2 subsequent pregnancies, my hips would separate if I laid on my back and someone would have to put my legs back in place! I recently had a NEVRO permanent stimulator put in to assist with pain; however, it has done nothing for the coccydynia pain I suffer. Thanks to your video, I can now take something to my Orthopedic doctors. God Bless you!

Thank you so much for this video. Unfortunately I've been dealing with this since the beginning of June. I am better but I still have some pain. Although I had been having some very slight pain after sitting for too long, I crammed myself down on a stationary bike back in June for just a very short while and a few hours later I then had terrible pain. Horrible burning in the urethra and female region along with tailbone pain. I could not sit at all and was in bed for three weeks! I've had an MRI showing no obvious issue with the coccyx, and have also been doing pelvic floor physical therapy. Beginning to wonder if I will have some degree of this from now on. I have not tried the Voltaren gel so I think I will give that a go. I do have two different cushions and they do help....especially helpful early on when this first happened. Thanks again for your videos. I enjoy them and learn from them as well!

I started using a rowing machine at a local gym about five weeks ago as part of my doctor's recommendations to lose weight. I have noticed that I have started having increased coccyx area pain as I have increased my time and distance on the machine. I have been careful to keep my back straight and my form correct to maximize the benefits of the exercise. Other than the coccyx pain, I really enjoy this workout and it is definitively improving my overall health. I don't know if I can use a coccyx cushion while on the machine (I think it might be difficult to keep it in place while doing the exercise). Do you know if that would work? Or should I just try treating the pain when not exercising? Based upon the video, I am thinking the later may be the best solution, but if I could use a device while on the machine, I think it would perhaps eliminate the pressure that is causing the pain. Any recommendations are appreciated and thanks for making this video.

Not sure if you can help but can you recommend any tail bone pain relief perhaps caused by muscle disabilities such as muscular dystrophy as an example? (I assume a lot of what you said in the video would help but looking for anything specific)

My tailbone pain started shortly after having an SI joint issue. The SI felt like some one stabbed me with a knife, I was bedridden for 2 weeks. A couple weeks after that the tailbone pain started. It's going on 9 months now, but SLOWLY getting better. Could an SI or Lumbar issue cause it?

Would tailbone injury cause inconsistent both urine or bowel?
@PrincetonSpineJointCenter

Do you mean incontinence? It shouldn’t cause that. If you are having incontinence then you should definitely talk to your doctor to find an accurate diagnosis asap.

Dont get a donut pillow, get one for the coccyx . Donut are for hemroids and they can actually make those worse. The one pictured is not a donut pillow.
