Its amazing how “The birdie” knows its a young child and is very gentle. Amazing creatures! And Logan cant get enough of those treats, just shove them in ! 😂
Too cute! The bird is so patient! It's so amazing to see how gentle the Cockatoo is with a baby!🤗🤗😍😍😍. I love watching animals interact with babies and kids! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
+Carolyn Tainter I can tell by the comments that many people do not realize just how intelligent these birds are. A well cared for bird will always be able to be trusted around its family members. It is too many rescue birds who have been severely neglected and abused that may bite and act aggressively. This is not their fault and is not in their nature. This is caused by being abused. These birds are magnificent creatures that require lots of attention and affection. If people want to own one plan on spending at minimum $100.00 a month for just their general care ( veterinarian care not included).
+Carolyn Tainter I was surprised by that too. I know how to read dogs, and to a lesser extent cats & horses, but I know absolutely nothing 1st hand about birds. That beak looks like it could do a lot of damage to a baby, & I was cringing the whole time - but the bird seemed completely unflustered. I know they're intelligent beings, but they're different from any critter I'm personally familiar with!
Animals are very, very good at noticing that this is a baby human. It is mind-boggling to watch how dogs, cows, these birds, so may animals just really get it and they are clearly gentle with them.
Seems like animals can sense when they need to be gentle. I've noticed that with my family's dog. One time he stood off to the side so my mom could come down the stairs.
@@bilbobaggins4710 never trust a primate toddler near a non-primate intelligent life form is the correct way of saying it. If the cockatoo has to defend against the toddler's abuse it would not be the bird's fault.
yeah, i didn't appreciate that at all!! i know she's probably a wonderful bird mama, but ignoring her bird, especially when he was being so well behaved and really deserved some treats, ugh.
Cockatoos are perhaps 1 of the top 10 smartest animals on earth. Highly social and screams at owners literally if they don't pay attention to them. High powder content from the feathers. Emotional like humans. Absolute clowns. Extremely entertaining. very affectionate to owners. Fantastic birds. but need alot of time each day or feather plucking can starts.
I was just about to say the same thing. What a well mannered cockatoo. I imagine, like other animals, he recognizes the little boy as being a baby as they have chicks. Cool.
+Carl Williams I had a cockatiel that would hiss and try to bite any adult (except family) that would try to pet him, but would accept even the clumsiest pets from children. RIP sweet Punky.
Yeah that isn't common. I was impressed. And this is a bird that knows it has a bite force of 2000 pounds of pressure per square inch. So it's amazing to see it use such precise control of the pressure it uses with it's beak. I can't imagine the beak itself has much by way of sence of feel, which is why they often feel with their toungue. This is a feat both bird and owner can be proud of.
actually, at this time, this parrot is more intelligent and advance than the lovely baby, the cakatoo is like a 2-3 years old kid if we do a comparison. see how gentle and carefully behaves .....
@@timothy790110 destructive power and intelligence are two very different things most humans confuse the latter with the former. Some people are less intelligent than this bird over their entire life.
+Clinton Cahill its kinda funny when I made this post and now I look at it and see everyone is so kind. Thanks you Everyone, may the good fortune follow you all.
Oh my gosh that's terrible . Im sorry that happened to you. I held a friend's pet iguana years ago and it bit the tip of my thumb off. Did that give you a fear of birds all these years later?
Rene Siracusa - I believe you. I was visiting a Zoo in England 36 years ago. My friend's toddler ran toward the cockatoos' cage (it wasn't separated from the public) and I chased him. As I reached the little boy, I stepped in slippery mud and instinctively grabbed onto the cage bars to avoid falling. But the bird that was closest clamped on my thumb in such a nasty way that I remember the pain to this day. For that reason, once my first child started crawling we took our Amazon to my in-laws, where she remained for 10 years. I wanted my children to keep all their fingers intact.
Amazing how gentle and careful the cockatoo is. Shows how intelligent they really are. Thanks for posting such an inspiring interaction between these two.
What a lovely bird and baby💕 the bird is so loving and gentle towards the baby and we could clearly tell that he enjoys the baby’s company for the fact that he didn’t even care to eat the treat when the mom gave it to him, he rather enjoy it with the baby. The baby was also very cute and nice he didn’t snap the bird or harm him.. both were so sweet connected. Thank you for sharing.
Green Ion You're right. It's the mother who's at fault here. What was she thinking?! That bird could have (and had every right to) take that child's finger off. They crack large nuts open with that razor sharp beak. You wouldn't let your kid near a scissors now would you? If that cockatoo took a turn, this could have ended badly. And the baby wasn't exactly gentle with it. Second. Human saliva can be lethal to a bird. Our dna should not mix. And that baby's saliva should have been nowhere near that bird. The mother also had no respect for the animal. She was filming it being teased and it is never a wise decision to tease an animal. And don't get me started on where she put the baby to film this. Just totally senseless "entertainment". I didn't find this cute at all.
Cockatoos are probably the funniest and friendliest birds there is, i own one, As long as the are kept socialized they are safe, but unless they are moody (which like people birds can have bad days) it should be ok.
Funny how animals seem to know when they are around a delicate little baby. Love the way this Cockatoo was with the baby. They can really bite, and break a hand, but this bird is just adorable!
Mom knows what she is doing and bird is well trained and loved. Animals are more tuned in how treat a child than an some adults. Mom wouldn’t risk putting her baby in danger if that hadn’t been trained and loved. Good job mom.
My Aunt has a cockatoo. He's a sweet enough guy, but he's pre owned and abused. So he bites at pretty much anything. We'd never let him that close to a baby. But it's nice to see how gentle they can be when they are actually well treat.
When you have a cockatoo, parrot, or any abused animal they might/will bite out of fear ... It takes a lot of time, training, and gaining of trust... But in this case it seems as she brought this parrot up from a baby and raised this parrot to be a loving family bird (:
