Have always heard that wild cockatoos are little hell raisers and scoundrels, just little rascals who like to get into mischief and will risk their lives just to get some kicks 😂 I think they're hysterical little troublemakers 😂 They're like tree monkeys with beaks and wings 🤣
These birds really have such a sense of humor. They're mischievous. The bird is creeping up on the cat like "You are NOT going to ignore me". So cute lol
I think this is about the 5th Cockatoo video I've watched in the last few days....and I'm becoming addicted ! They have such great characters & really make me laugh. Like little naughty children in bird form. 😂
It’s always fascinating to watch cockatoos going thru the plans they made up in their minds. They’re really plans makers or short terms projects birds, as well as artists and communicators.
I would LOVE to live where I had wild cockatoos in my yard! I have squirrels and birds native to the south...but wild parrots!!... I would be in heaven.
Certain Cockatoos and various other kind of parrots are VERY common in Australia. some parrots have adapted very well to agriculture and urbanization, while other parrot species have declined.
Cockatoos are so intelligent, if not the most intelligent birds. Amazing how the cat just stayed there. My cockatoo and my pomerenean dog are best friends and play together all the time. Hide and seek is their favorite
@apparentlyrebbecca ,these are sulfur crested cockatoos. these are the most intelligent birds on the planet. we had 2 of them. they learnt swear words and they didn't learn them off us. they also understood sentence construction and made up their own sentences. they did not just repeat things 'parrot fashion'.
This is a testament to the laid-back temperament that some cats can have. Some people pin it on breed, but I think that it has more to do with whoever the cat is around for its formative years. My cats have all had very long fuses for being messed with, regardless of breed.
I think this cat is old and hearing probably not so good too. Poor thing just trying to take an arvo nap and cockatoo looks like it wants cat out of way to have access to whatever is in that plastic container. Birds do notice when cats become less of a threat and start to take advantage of the situation.
The cheekiness and curiosity of the cockatoo proves that it is a intelligent and cunning bird. It could match a 4 year old child in general intelligence. Some parrots even match a 5 year old child. Cockattos are my favourite animals.
Cokatoo might get a good bite in and cat will run or cat might wrap around it with all claws and sink those sharp teeth in. My cat chased a beagle up the laneway the other day, poor dog was screaming for it's life ha ha ha.
CrazyBirdyBird Unfortunately your friends poor cat must of been a house cat. My cat spends most of it's time out in the bush of rural Australia hunting rabbits.
@@SanchoGracie lol. Totally understand that Tracy. I used to spend time feeding our local ones with kangaroo mince during the year. That way when breeding season came they were really used to me and would just fly down happily looking for a feed. They'd even let me near their babies
Wow, that cockatoo is so clever and tries his best to tease the cat and comes up with a novel way to do it so that she can't see him and he gets the job done. He is just like a toddler.
I personally find it amazing how patient and tolerant the cat is. The cat just lays there and ignores the cockatoo like it’s thinking, “If I ignore it long enough, it will go away.”
@@justinmartin4662I hopefully would not try to bite a lion on the tail though If I ever try, someone please stop me and find out what d rug I'm on because that needs a deto x quick 😅
Cat never fails to lose equanimity and treats parrot like a beloved child. And you can tell by the raised crest and slightly annoyed look on the bird's face that it was put out at not not being able to wind up the cat. Very endearing.
Poor kitty looks like he knows they mock him and knows that if he reacts too much they will really get a kick out of his frustration. It's called teasing!
+Julie Bell This cat looks sick and like it is suffering. The posture with his head sunken down on his paws - my cat did that when she was very very sick. Most people don't understand this and think it is "cute".
THAT IS SOOO FUNNY. I'VE WATCHED IT A DOZEN MORE TIMES JUST TO GIGGLE AND LAUGH .THE CAT IS LIKE CHILLING OUT BEING PESTERED BY THE PESKY COCKATOO THEN FLEW AWAY SCREAMING , IT WORKED SOME NERVRS AND CAME BACK , IT POOTED A STREAM AND TRIED THE TAIL .NOW THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST PART.
I was mugged by a gang of cockatoos in Australia who successfully got a muffin I was eating while trying to read my book on a balcony. It started with one, then others joined in, just sitting on the balcony eying me. It was like a scene from “The Birds”. Once they covered the balcony from one end to the other, the toughest looking one jumped on my recliner “demanding” some of my muffin. “Okay” I thought, “He’ll get a small piece and that’ll be the end of it.” Big mistake! The next moment I was swarmed by all the other cockatoos demanding their share! Wished I’d filmed it. In the end a couple of smaller parrots chased the remaining cockatoos off for the crumbs.
Nope - the bird and the cat both know that the real prize is the container of cat food. The bird is trying to pester the cat into leaving. The cat knows this from bitter experience and prefer s to put up with the small annoyances for the sake of a greater one: an empty bowl!
Cockatoo was trying to get cat to leave, so he could steal his food. Judging from the amount of cockatoos in the yard, yes Ryan O’Hare, I’m sure it happens every morning and cat is food guarding. Gotta love it!
