Not just birds, other animals too! They know the kids can be rough, and Max not being exposed with children often. Max is protecting his territory, which most animals do. I would never let my children get near close like that to animals, especially the first time. I was nervous myself watching, how close those visitors are with Max.😬 Love our Max, he is a handsome birdie. Thank you for sharing Dan. The girls are so cute! Blessing to everyone.😇🥰

I guess little folk as lovely as these two little ones are, while innocent in their movements and response towards Max he didn't understand their intentions and went into mean Max mode for self preservation. Dan knows Max so well and am sure he guided the situation with his little visitors well and calmly too. How lovely for them to get some of his beautiful feathers to take home. 🪶🪶 Clever Max to know to move to ground level when the thunder storm alert came on. He is such a character.

The visitors were just excited and fascinated by max. I don’t think they understood that he was nervous and unsure of them because they’re just kids and think that every pet wants to play with them.
@@kj8314. That’s why children need to be instructed. Things can be explained. When I was given a kitten at age 8, my mother thoroughly explained to me how NOT to bother the kitten. I remember some of it was don’t touch her while she’s sleeping because she needs her rest, don’t bother her while she’s eating, etc. I wasn’t a loud, unpredictable kid so there wasn’t a lot of worry, but I knew enough to listen to what I was told.
@@angelwings7930 well they did listen when Dan told them not to get too close. They were just excited and most kids get excited when they see a new pet. I was like that when i was a kid too.
But they were loud and screechy! And they stared at me like I was their lunch! I was actually far more civilized than a lot of birds out there! My blue-fronted Amazon would definitely not have been so restrained & hospitable!
My cat is like that, too. She seems to understand they are mini humans but doesn't like it when they're close to her, probably cause she knows they can be unpredictable
Poor Mr Max, I think he was just over whelmt with the situation , I get fed up with other humans too sometimes, I can understand how he felt .The little girls were just excited and were sweet - I'm sure Max hasn't put them off, they will come and visit again I think. Yvonne - I totally agree. His space is being invaded. The kids are not precious, they’re not cute, they’re loud and obnoxious, especially to a sensitive pet.

I think our precious boy is just not used to *littles, even two cuties. It wasn't personal. He just likes his space... I got my Cockatoo Babbel book out. Max said that next time he'll be more cordial.🤭... After alerting the neighborhood, our BRILLIANT boy took off, and went to a lower area when the severe, storm warnings came on. Max isn't socialized other than with Dan's family and a few friends. It's no surprised he was on edge and stressed with the newcomers and the fact kids can be loud and move too suddenly for him to feel comfortable. He was just reacting as one would expect of a parrot with strangers, particularly when they invade his personal space.

MAX IS A GOOD BOY! A scared bird reacting like a scared bird means that the birds “parent “should’ve prepared the bird for visitors coming over or perhaps not let those little girls so close to him, knowing that Max isn’t used to that kind of stimulation. An animal is not “mean “or “bad “just because they don’t do what we want them to do
Max was just being max . The little girls close and sudden movements most likely made him scared and defensive. Most animals find children unpredictable, I know I do .

Don’t be too hard on Max, Dad Dan. He isn’t used to children with their sudden movements and laughter. They made him nervous and on guard. If he had grown up around kids, it would probably be a different thing. He’s a beautiful and loving boy.❤
I think that clucking noise that sounds like "laughter" is anything but; it sounds like an anxiety response. Max making his feathers big seemed like a warning too. I was worried Max was going to snap at the girls, and he came close to doing so. Anyway I'm glad nothing bad happened!
Birds that aren't around strangers a lot aren't being mean. It's more like their a little fearful because they don't know them. But quick movements towards Max should be told to children ahead of time, not to do. Poor Max. Max is acting natural. Max is always a good boy. Love Max......he is special. ❤
