This fella might find it hard to drink as well. The bread and crackers are okay for this time, but they're very salty for birds. Try a seed mix, maybe some freeze dried mealworms. Or something specific for a cocky. Maybe somehow affix a saucer of water on the railing it could manoeuver to drink from, that could help as well.
Yes we give them seed mix as well but the thing is other birds didn't let him eat he had to fly after taking his food, so we gave him bread so he can fly and eat anywhere . ❤thanks for your comment
@@Sydneytravels61 Thank you for looking after the poor bird. We have one with one leg that we care for too. It's the same situation; the other birds take her mixed seeds and chase her away. We solved it by giving her mixed seeds by hand in a small cup. Each time she takes a scoop, we move it temporary away so the other birds don't approach her to snatch the cup.
@@Sydneytravels61 Thank you for posting and for having a heart for that precious dear bird. They love fresh fruit and vegetables (and did you know that avocados can kill them)?
Did you see how, after the first piece of whatever they gave him fell, he used his lower beak to hold the food in place while he used his upper and lower to tear pieces of the food to eat? Pretty amazing how he's adapting.
