Cockington Village is within Cockington Country Park in South Devon, just one mile from Torquay. It is the perfect Chocolate Box village!
In this short video (sorry very slow and laggy computer this week and 6 minutes took many hours to edit!) I give you a glance at Cockington in February. You will see that it was very quiet on this Saturday afternoon when I visited.
In the summer expect many tourists! It will be a completely different scene.
I hope to go back in the summer time to show you it when there are more visitors and when the tea rooms and more craft studios are open.
So, sit back, relax and enjoy looking around Cockington!

My parents used to work at the old school house it was an awful experience thanks to the woman who owns it (she had rented the shop to my parents). But that hasn't stopped my love for Cockington as we had made lifelong friends there.

Cockington is a stunning village, been several times when holidaying in Devon. Remember taking my 9 year old daughter on a ghost walk around Cockington one evening in the late nineties.

Thank you Faith! Yes, it’s really delightful and it’s own little world so close to the bustling seaside town of Torquay. I think it will be even prettier in the summer. I hope to go back then too!

I love Cockington! And there's been a place in my head that's been bugging me, I visited with my husband & Mum & Dad late 90's, and haven't been able to remember where it is. A random picture in my head, now I know.... it's the Manor House at Cockington! So thanks for that! I also didn't know it's only a miles walk from Torquay, so that's good to know for future reference! 😊 And I love the ponies hair style btw!!! 😁

Oh that’s so nice to know that you have been reminded of where that place in your head is! So pleased that the video helped! Yes, I really love Cockington too and it’s such a contrast from the seaside at Torquay which is such a short and lovely walk away, Aww! Yes, the ponies are adorable!

It’s always been on my wish list to one day own a chocolate box cottage - they are so pretty! Love seeing these out an about in the West Country. One of my fav villages is Piddle Trentide - it’s full of them too!

Another super video from beautiful Devon! Loved it. I have been to Cockington before a couple of times, but I have never managed to go inside the church - last time a wedding was taking place! It really does look old inside there. As usual with your videos Louise, you provided your viewers with some very useful visiting and travel information - which is brilliant. I look forward to the boardwalk from here too! Thanks for showing us around this gorgeous place. Paul.

Thank you Paul! Much appreciate your comment! Glad you got to see inside the church, albeit from the other side of my phone camera! Hoping to get the board walk video out mid week!

Thank you Caroline! I came across Cockington by chance when I was researching where to find snowdrops in Torquay! I had not heard of it before! I have just edited the walk from Torquay seafront to Cockington. That should be on the channel on Wednesday evening. It’s a gorgeous walk!

Every year from May 2014 - May 2019 My family and I would visit and every time my grandma got a cream tea and a glass paper weight. My grandparents went rather recently and she did the very same, had to add another one to her collection.

How far is to Cockington from London by train?
@SouthWestSundays
@SouthWestSundays 2 месяца назад
Hello! Depending on where you start from in London would vary it slightly, but a direct train from London Paddington to Torquay would take 3 hours and 14 minutes. You would need to make further onward travel arrangements to Cockington. It’s a lovely short walk from Torquay. At a leisurely pace it would take about an hour, if that. I believe there is also a bus in the summer months.

All built by the old indigenous people of this country let’s pray to God it stays beautiful because if Sadiq Khan has his way the whole country will be on the sharia law and you will see built there within 20 years. God protect our country.
