Nah there will always be “anything” modded out there to gap you… can mod an old pickup truck to gap anyone if you dump enough money into it… but after driving my girls 2019 civic for the past two weeks… I would never put any money into these cars. Waste

Turbo yes but winning is winning and losing is losing and you never had your car you never had you!! Lightweight small turbo tuned and kills. That is a win all the way around. @@matthewhanzlick6785 I did some maths to work out the benefit of being on the inside lane on a curve with a circumference of around 1 mile. I knew it was going to be a small benefit compared to the short distance of the race but when I calculated it it was still worth a couple of car lengths even with how vague my estimates were for the circumference etc and in a race as tight as that a car length or two technically do make a difference. A nose or a car length of a fender, whatever, it can make a visible difference.

The K20Z3's in those generation Si's are more than sufficient starting points. They are even used as swaps sometimes, especially for older Hondas. Legit V-Tec, almost 200bhp from the factory and a factory limiter around 8400 rpm if I remember correctly from my FG2 Coupe. On par with most K20's popularly used for swaps and those found in previous gen (N/A) Type-R's. It would be a huge waste of resources to swap out to another K20 for a starting point of a few more HP (like in the RSX Type-S or 03-06 Type R) if you are just going to build it and add boost anyway, so I'm willing to bet he stuck with the K20Z3 that came with it and built that up. If anything, possibly a K24 frankenstein mating with his Z3, but I doubt even that because the money would be much better spent on forced induction, internals and upgraded fuel, etc (unless money was no object.) But in that case he would probably be in a new Type-R or a German or Italian Stallion of some sort.

Agreed, even my AWD Evo going from 450 to 600 HP went from epic dual purpose daily driver to pain in the ass to drive on the street. There was a bit more involved, longer gears (final drive) for one.

Not entirely true, weight plays a big factor so when you break down the P/W ratio the engine that has to do less work moving the car will usually be faster, if not in a straight line absolutely on turns and curves. Oftentimes, we think power numbers are the end all be all but there are many variables to consider and this here shows how a car with roughly a little over half of the power (if I'm not mistaken, some of those muscle car models reach upwards of 700+ HP) can keep up with or surpass cars with double their power output. I know from my personal experience my 86 (which is turbocharged) at 50% throttle was competing with a C63 AMG at 500+HP and I had to back off (mainly due to my tune not being finished so didn't want to go WOT and cause any damage) because he was all over the place and the suspension and weight (twice my car's weight almost) was almost making him lose control just trying to outdo me. His car definitely was fast and the acceleration of that turbo v8 showed, but ultimately his skill, or lack thereof, and his nigh 2 ton chassis held him back to the point we would be nearly identical in performance (mathematically, I had a bit higher P/W ratio).

It works as advertised. The civic weighs 3k lbs and has 370whp. The Charger weighs 4.4K lbs and has about 450whp. Results were spot on.

Wouldn't blink at it to be honest... if I had the Dodge I would be pretty impressed my stock vehicle with a warranty and pump gas is playing around with a highly modified non-warranty... problem to be tuner vehicle. Both look like fun cars. Not a huge fan of the BoV in the Civic though... sounds like a vacuum cleaner hose-line detached.
