I like the doorbell system in many different Japanese restaurants. Well I found wait staff in America are pretty good, since a lot of them work for tips. But here in the UK it can be pretty tough sometimes to get a waiters attention. It would be great to have some sort of button to press if we need anything.
In America you would think that they could have more workers because they pay you almost nothing to work but when I visited Mexico you have like your own personal server. Some restaurants are good but America just sucks for all of the low paying jobs because owners take as much advantage as possible of workers
@@festiveboar they must atleast pay minimum wage if they dont make it up in tips. a good server and usually make pretty decent money. sadly, at a lot of popular places like Bdubs, etc the servers are complete garbage in combination with them being understaffed
@@jasonlamanset3972 Firstly, I have known many very good servers at bdubs. Secondly, as far as the minimum wage goes it is averaged out weekly so I worked at a nice restaurant where you could make $200-300 on a Saturday night. But then I had lunch shifts every weekday where I would make around $4 an hour. But averaged out over the entire week you still made more than minimum wage (7.25 in Virginia at the time). So they don't have to give you anything for the shifts you make nothing. In the end, you work 50-60 hours a week for less than you would make in 40 hours at a McDonald's. I don't want to fight you in RU-vid comments but please send me a personal message if you would like to be educated on how the tipping system works in America because you either worked in a restaurant that was going above and beyond the law to pay you fairly or never worked in one at all.
@@jasonlamanset3972 In America, many if not most owners steal tips from the workers, the estimate is over $60 BILLION in wage theft...that is why I always pay my tips in cash and never put it on my card, they steal from customers too by adding a tip on BEFORE they give you the check so you have to be careful.
I love when u eating at most places in Japan and they always play relaxing background music when I'm on holidays there it really feels like a holiday!!!!
I'm sure they're more concerned about him talking to the cameras in the restaurant, lol. People in Japan can become awfully paranoid when there's a camera in the vicinity!
@@WitchyOrchid These places don't care as much as some other restaurants, tbh. I've shot videos in similar chain restaurants and the staff usually don't bother too much. Where it becomes a problem is independently owned restaurants. I've had managers and staff ask me not to record in their restaurant, which is totally understandable for me. Also, some of them won't let you record, even if you ask for permission first. You usually need some clout or need to contact them beforehand to get them to agree to letting you in.
Straight Up Eats Japanese people not paranoid around cameras, lol. They make some of the best cameras 📷 in the world! You ever see Japanese tourists before, and their cameras?
Just watched your video with my boyfriend after a long day at University! Loooove to watch you try interesting food- so foreign to what I see where I live. 👍👍👍💗
The Family Restaurants in Japan are really interesting to me. Competition is fierce, so they are always changing their menus to try and win new customers.
Man I’m so late on this vid! I was pretty shocked with your Nom rating. You had great reaction to almost every first bite of each dish minus the potato in the set menu. I thought for sure this was going to be at least a NomNom. Great vid!
I lived near a Coco's when I was in Tokyo, I went to have late diner everytime I finished my part-time job. The meals are delicious and the staffs are nice, wanna try it again when have chance to comeback to Japan
I want to come to tokyo in september...do you think it would be best to get a tour package or is it better to discover on your own? I'm just afraid I would get lost and I don't know a lick of japanese thanks for your help and videos they help me relax at night
Thanks CC. I really appreciate your support. Sadly, I just shaved the beard as I have just started teaching a new semester at university here in Japan. However, my videos are shot 2-3 weeks in advance, so you will still see some more beard...Sorry, I hope I didn't let you down. But I'm already looking forward to growing it back this summer. Where do you live Cindy?
@@ericsurf6 you didn't let me down, the beard is like that old friend that comes in and out when ya need him... I kinda figured the vids are a couple of weeks behind.. hope you have a smooth semester filled with sponge like minds... I live about 20 mins north of Boston, Massachusetts.. right next door to the town I told you had the best popcorn (Salem, and alot of history) my towns the original Sin City.. Lynn, Massachusetts.. "Lynn Lynn, city of sin, can't go out the way you came in 😎" Home of Marshmallow fluff, also known as shoe city... When I worked in Manhattan, I remember a short period of time when crepes were a craze, but I only remember savory crepes. If the craze had included dessert crepes, I'm certain I would remember it more fondly as I have quite a sweet tooth.
I cannot read his facial expressions, never know what he thinks until he actually says it. I'm like "What, what? Is it sour? Is it spicy?" Then he goes "Delicious!". He tries the next thing, nods and nods then goes "Meh, kinda tasteless!" The actual verdict is always a surprise on everything 😂
Your feast looked really good, minus the spinach lol Your dessert looked amazinf!! Great Eric Meal time as always!! Have a good one, Eric!! #temgetsome 😃😎
There you go making me hungry again, everything looked good, it's sad that the spinach was overcooked. Have you ever thought about doing a home-cooked meal, Ora daily/normal every day meal?
I am sooo far behind on my you tube videos. I have been with my mom in the hospital. And at her house, she has cancer and had her stomach removed. Your videos are my favorite, you tend to cheer me up a bit. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. You mean so much to so many, more than you will ever know. I had to skip watching others, but not yours.
