In our never ending search for great products to import to Coco’s Italian Market we were in Southern Italy near the city of Cosenza in the Calabria region. There we met up with Scalzo Preserves founder Giuseppe and his family. They use no artificial colors or preservatives in their production of peppers, eggplant, onions, mushrooms, fruits, jams and marmalades, sauce bases, chili’s, etc. You can see the quality through the jars and you can taste it on your plate.
Since 1973 Giuseppe with his wife Carmalina and their kids still manage all areas of growing right through final production.
