To Make Red Coconut Chutney
Coconut - 1 Cup
Roasted Chana Dal - 1/4 Cup
Garlic - 2 Cloves
Ginger
Byadgi Chilli - 4 Nos
Chilli - 3 Nos
Rock Salt - 1 Tsp
Tamarind
Water
Prep Time: 5 mins

To Make Green Chilli Coconut Chutney
Coconut - 1 Cup
Roasted Chana Dal - 1/2 Cup
Green Chilli - 6 Nos
Tamarind
Rock Salt - 1 Tsp
Water
For Tempering
Urad Dal - 2 Tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp
Cumin Sseeds - 1 Tsp
Red Chillies
Asafoetida / Hing
Curry Leaves
METHOD
FOR RED COCONUT CHUTNEY
1. Take grated coconut, roasted chana dal, green chillies, rock salt, tamarind in a mixer jar.
2. Grind them all once.
3. Add water and grind them into a nice chutney.
4. Once the chutney is done, remove from the mixer jar and transfer to a bowl.
5. For the tempering, heat oil in a pan.
6. Add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and saute.
7. Once the mustard seeds start splattering, add red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves and saute.
8. Transfer the tempering to the chutney and mix.
FOR GREEN CHILLI COCONUT CHUTNEY
1. Take grated coconut, roasted chana dal, garlic, ginger, byadagi chillies, red guntur chillies, rock salt, tamarind in a mixer jar.
2. Grind them all once.
3. Add water and grind them into a nice chutney.
4. Once the chutney is done, remove from the mixer jar and transfer to a bowl.
5. For the tempering, heat oil in a pan.
6. Add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and saute.
7. Once the mustard seeds start splattering, add red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves and saute.
8. Transfer the tempering to the chutney and mix.
Coconut chutney has a special place in the South Indian tiffins and no tiffin is complete without this. Coconut is rich in good fats and it is very healthy for everybody. That's why, everybody adds it to different recipes and every household makes coconut chutney in a different style. In this video, we tried to show two wonderful coconut chutney recipes to you guys, one of them is red coconut chutney with red chillies and the other is green cococnut chutney with green chillies.
