I lost my boyfriend to his battle with depression two weeks ago today. He used to play this every chance he got because he loved it that much. Just remembering how happy he looked listening to this made me come back to stream it now and I can’t hold back the tears. I’m so glad I have another memory of him through this song.

Bpd is a hard hard thing... coming from someone with about 10 years more under my garbage belt I want to tell you it doesn't get better, but my ability to cope with the rot around me better in just a few years, it's what's kept me alive. I hope you can build up your coping skills and mechanisms to deal, it's all we've got. It's been worth it for me, or for those I love to not have to bury me at such an early age. That's how I look at things, would doing this hurt them? So that is who or what I am in this world... I was born & raised in California but have lived on the east coast for the past almost 30 years. I'm a single mom with 1 child. When my daughter was about to go off to college in Los Angeles, we played that song in the car and I started to cry while singing it. She's away at college now, and when it comes up in my queue I still cry because I'm missing her, missing the West Coast.

My boyfriend who lived in socal at the time (me from norcal) would play this everyday on our facetime calls while he drove to work and when he'd drive back to the airport to head home. The suitcase part really hit home when we got to the airport and I had to watch him walk away and head to the plane. This song made our long distance relationship at the time easier for me. Now when I hear it or listen to it it brings back really good memories of our beginning together and reminds me of how far we've come with our life together. This song is probably our most special song.
Love this song! I'm in radio and heard it for the first time on a Delta Flight from Atlanta to LA back in 2006. It never became a huge hit (which amazes me). But it pops up every now and then. Like last night while grocery shopping. Boom! There it was playing over the speakers in the store. It brought me right back to that ATL to LA flight. I love hidden Gems!!
Mark Gonzalez is so under appreciated as a genuinely creative person. If he did what he did with skateboarding and skate culture with just about any other form of art his would be a household name.

I don't know who showed me this song but I first heard when I was young camping probably around when this song came out. It was played all week nonstop. Since then it has been one of a few songs that keeps me calm and relaxed. I would listen to this to clear my head or study and write papers for college. Thanks for this wonderful song.
I was born in Oregon and moved around a lot I’m currently in Florida on the East coast but I have such fond memories of Oregon and the west so now that I’m almost 18 I’m gonna try to get my buddy and me to take a huge road trip back to Oregon and hopefully we’ll get to see some other places too
i miss the west coast, i spent a lot of my young childhood there. Most of my family is from the west coast and i’m the only person in my family who was born in nyc and had lived there my whole life. I grew up with west coast music and west coast words and ideas that aren’t as common in ny. Im in a constant confusion of where i wanna be or where i wanna go. This type of music connects to my new york city self and my west coast self.

@@Bararonx Thank you for bringing me back to this song:) i have been doing a lot better lately and i made it to 16! im very sorry for your loss and i hope you can bring him flowers soon im sure he was and still is very loved. my struggles haven't dissapered but i found ways to keep myself a float and have now been out of rehab and hospitals for 8 months! thank you for your kind words and weirdly enough outdoor camping with my best friend and boyfriend has become a go to and genuienly makes me happy to still be around. if anyone else struggling is reading this i'll say it doesnt get better immediatly it takes work but when you can find good days and simple joys it feels worth it i love you

A song I discovered freshman year of high school, fresh at a new school 6 hours away from my home town. I listened to this song to remember the girl I spent all of middle school in absolute love with. We were gonna get married. I'm rediscovering this song now, as a college freshman.
