I have some spinning and yarn dyeing projects to share and a little bit of silk cocoon processing and some old crochet doilies and magazines that were my grandmothers.

Hi Amie. You're very welcome. Oh yeah, the fair, I had not thought of that in a while. Speaking of ravens, that's what I was kinda going for with the fiber I'm spinning up now, too. By the way, the little purse you made recently was so pretty and cute. ❤️🐻
Silk is very grabby. You are supposed to be able to spin it straight from the hanky, I have not seen anyone comb or card it not that it cannot be done. I have not spun my silk caps, hankies or cocoons yet but the videos I have watched were all sound from the hankie. The blue is very pretty. Very pretty doilies.
Hi Tina. Thank you so much. I had seen that you can spin from a hanky too, but mine didn't seem to want to draft well, so I tried combining and carding. I think i added a bit to much washing soda and it made the fiber feel almost stiff or brittle when it dried. It was weird and hard to explain. I had also heard some where that baking soda high ph can be hard on protein fibers, so mabe that caused it? I hope the next time I try processing the rest, without any, that they are a little easier to work with. And I will give spinning from a hanky a try.
