A friend showed me Cocorosie in the summer of 2007. And I always come back. My daughter is almost 3 now and already hears the fairies in the morning riding school. 😊 one of the most present and constant bands in my life.
This is by far one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Who knew such an odd assortment of instruments combined with her distinct voice could create something so pure and...precious? Delicate? (I know I sound cheesy, but these are the only words I can think of to describe it!) But that's what it is. Indescribable. Good work, Cocorosie. To many more! Thank you for uploading this.
crack crack tea cake sweet sweet jamaica goddamn that's sweet sweet sweet jamaica it was a hairnet paradise god bless them eyes it was a hairnet paradise brown, black, blue eyes
15/16/17 years since I 1st heard coco Rosie. Half a lifetime ago. Still hits the same feels now. Let's face it, your not gunna hear things like this anymore.
The level of drugs and creativity to make this and OG nine inch nails… old Manson. Old Tupac even. Like we’re never going to see unhinged performances like that ever again like we did in the late 90s lol it sucks. All this mumble rap and EDC music
i havent been this excited to discover such talent in a very very long time. i am officially obsessed with cocorosie. not one song have i heard that i havent been thoroughly impressed with. so creative, so talented, so hypnotic, eccentric, confident, pure and i LOVE their style!
yes, they are magic! i love both of them. had good and very bad times in the states, now i´m back.Austria. my obsession for CocoRosie will be with me forever! thanks Sarah!
See alot of people critiquing theyre style and methodology just want to say Music isnt always about aesthetics. Its an expression of ones self. If thats how the feel they need to express themselves support it. Or you know just move on :) Its art and in art there are no limits. Only those you yourself establish.
oone critique their style and "methodology" (as if they have one.. geez). what are you talking about? and by the way they don't give a shit, Im sure of it
Clearly you did not understand the intention of my comment. Nor did you try to. Because its pretty straight forward and methodology just refers to the way they go about making their music and there is a pattern if you listen to enough of their works. So either read my comment again without attacking me before even trying to understand the intent. Also I actually love these gals. I think theyre amazing artists. And funny how you know what people think. So "sure" of it. You should be a mind reader... Bye
It sounds like it's lyrics are based off the book, "Their Eyes are Watching God", when Tea Cake was combing Janie's tangled hair and the two fell in love on the cracking porch swing.
I have never seen a video of them. I am so excited to see the toys that they have used on their albums. Their older stuff has the highest plays on my itunes. Lovely.
This is like, the first video i ever favorited here. I just remembered about it. And god damn, its still the most beautiful thing Ive ever heard. "Blue ice"...god damn...Im a emotionally locked up midwestern american and this song still throws tears out my eyes everytime
I cannot stop listening to this. I know it's irrelevant, but i think Bianca Is beautiful. She so illusive and present at the same time. I'm a woman and she makes me sing inside
this is so impressive. so much talent. people can think that these two are as weird as they want to think, but seriously. i'd like to see any of their mainstream artists play two instruments at the same time as well as this. i mean i know all you have to do is hum into a kazoo, but still... i bet it'd be hard. and they make kids' toys sound so good. haha.
so lovely,it's beautiful,haunting... their music tells a story, if you close your eyes & let your imagination roam, you see yourself walking in the rain, a ballet, you see crashing waves, a baby born, a beautiful love scene.........
It's 2011 and I've just been shown this video now. I'm very grateful to the friends who have pulled me out from under the rock I've been living underneath. These two girls have created a masterpiece. If a beautiful sadness had a sound, this would be it. I hope these two girls can rise above the demons who've left them bruised because I feel like the world is a better place knowing that t
It is powerful... They can make music that I cannot stop listening with just some chinese toys and instrument... Even if so simple... It somehow... catches my soul... Great. Love those girls
Anything that makes a sound is an instrument in my eyes, just because it isn't a standard instrument doesn't mean it can't make beautiful noises, this video exemplifies this.
2 sisters, beautiful souls, one shows so much confidence and poise the other seems to be so shy about her abilities that we all obviously love, yet she continues on and on, a shy confident? Either way they are so amazing and powerful.
such a mournful melody. their expression of heartache is exquisite! I am mesmerized by their performance. The inclusion of the child's toy is so apropos. the 2 sisters seem to carry something from so long ago? What ever it is, I still carry it too. You can't escape it...Maybe in the next world?
My daughter loves cocorosie, we have to hear it all the time in the car when I take her to school. She's so sad that I can't take her to the concert, she's only 6... this is just mesmerizing stuff.
