Genestealers are incredibly gross in vanguard invader with the broodlord. They swing at S5 4A each and you have access to an 18 inch no shoot me Strat, brood lord gives your enemies -1 hit in combat, and they also have devastating wounds and advance and charge, and in combination with a scout move 1st turn charges are possible on certain battlefields. I have had these bad boys kill terminator bricks in a single round of combat and marines straight up die on contact!
Yes, they’re magnificent! It’s like the days of 5th Ed Genestealers, but they’re even tougher! Don’t sleep on them in Assimilation Swarm, either. They’re a decent target for regeneration, and the Parasitic Biomorphology enhancement on a Broodlord is simply wicked. S8 (with Synapse) and Genestealers hitting at S6, with all models gaining +1 attack after wiping out their first unit in combat. If you can keep them relatively safe/regenerate them while they run around the board, they can just pick up units turn after turn. Really nasty stuff!
Honestly I don’t even think it needs to be vanguard, the 18inch no shoot is nice, but they’re fairly tough for their cost so it might be sort of a waste for enemies if they focus fire them turn 1 while you set up other stuff in position, but they definitely can tear through enemies if they get in close. They average 10.8 wounds against terminators who use AoC with the broodlord even before accounting for any stratagem use or detachment abilities, and with invasion fleet adrenal surge+swarming instincts they can get a ridiculous 15 wounds on terminors (all this isn’t even including the broodlord themself). Which can mean they literally earn back nearly their whole worth in one turn of combat, while also causing major disruption. And you can get even more if they don’t use armor of contempt, which can be accomplished by just getting two separate units into position to fight in one round so one of their enemies can’t use armor of contempt (and the adrenal surge combo even still works since they have broodlords so they’re both synapse so you can target them both). Tyranids can be insanely lethal now, I think they only arent crushing tounaments because killing enemies isn’t the main goal ultimately
The model can put in some serious work, though! My last local tournament appearance saw me bring 2 Harridans along. It was a ridiculous list, but it still went 2-1. While not the most optimal units, the big bugs are certainly capable of carrying the day!
I think zoanthropes would be the bottom of teir 1 due to the neurotyrant being able to lead them. When considering the lore, it just makes sense. Also, I feel like tyranid warriors with melee weapons are high teir 3 or low 2. The additional strength in melee really helps.
The Neurotyrant is a game-changer for the Zoanthropes, who are otherwise a little too unreliable. Melee Warriors are great if you can just get them into combat, but man, shooting armies are hard on them.
Oh, damn, I missed that. That's a hilarious combination - I mean, the Barbgaunts were already MVP after they locked down Gazghkull for an entire game; he managed to kill ~20 hormagaunts and 3 warriors, and that's it. The rest of the game was just spent slogging along two or three inches at a time.
It wouldn’t be hard, just allow the Tervigon to take the Fleshborer Hive and then just make a second profile that doesn’t have access to said Hive but has more attacks in melee. I guess it would require a new kit by GW standards with a Hormagaunt popping out…
Straight up psycophages are awesome, underated yes but Ive run two before and they are great for move blocking and advancing up the board and buffing hordes
I've been thinking of clay modeling some zoanthropes and making a maleceptor out of an intellect devourer model or something. Now I'm even more motivated
@@strikertango3724 not true at all buddy, i used to have the same views on 3d printing but i ended up getting one and its just not the case at all. Bad prints maybe but the resin is tougher than gw plastic, you can get stuff made for miniatures that you can throw at the wall and they're fine. I can print in up to 8x more definition than gw models as well so they look better. As for the files ive got the gw and proxies that look better so really bud you just dont know much about 3D printing. Its taken massive leaps this oast few years its to the point that it doesnt make sense not to have one when you realize you are getting better quality for so much less and you have more options
The Haruspex is probably the main reason why Carnifex and Screamer Killer is so low on the list because me who also plays Tyranids would want to field a Haruspex because it’s for some reason cheaper by point cost and they are pretty much better in every way.

Sporocysts do have a use - in a Crusher Stampede, they get +2OC while at Starting Strength. Unless your opponent has Indirect fire, plop one on your home objective and laugh. If they do, put it half-way on the objective and force them to waste said IF to cripple your mine factory. Also, it's a Monster, not a Fortification - combo with a Tyrannocyte, and you can have some seriously annoying early-game mid-field object holders! Sure, it's 250pts, but it's also 20 wounds at T9/10 with 3+ save... Which is annoying to get rid of, because they aren't really a priority threat, unlike the Carnifexes, Haruspexes, Exocrines, Maleceptors, Tyrannofexes... That said, it's still more of a "Beer and Pretzels" kind of unit than anything competetive. Still, it is fun! Also, Carnifexes in Crusher Stampede is your heavy troop choice; two of them have a combined OC of 10 as long as both are still alive, and if you kill one the second has OC2 - but won't have to test for battleshock, which makes it a very reliable objective holder. Spec each duo so one can handle hordes and the other big stuff, and you have a flexible mainstay without giving up the Big Stompy Monster feel.
the only adjustment they had to do for the Toxicrene was changing the need to be base to base after a charge and instead let Toxicrenes charge until in reach for its tentacle attacks
I’m a bit confused, so attaching the zoan’s to the neurotryant also gives them the monster keyword from it? Which allows them use the “big guns never tire” rule? I thought keywords don’t transfer or am I understanding that wrong?
Truly....make datasheet tierlist have no sense without considering Detatchment. So : 1 - Invasion dataS. Tier list 2 - PsyNexsus dataS tier list 3- Invasion dataS tier list and so on. More content for your channel...
I bought two Harpy models going into 10th. Pretty mad that what I thought would be center piece and cool in it's uses is useless- and I have tried forcing only one into lists, but it obviously a waste of points. I figured with Pariah Nexus saying OC0 can not do actions, that they would finally get a realistic point drop. There is no reason to keep them this high right now.
Thanks 👌 Tervigon deserves better. Especially in the invasion fleet detachment, it's solid with the fnp! (He's a lord!) Synapse units, a good aura for termagans, good in cac ! I often play it with 20 or 40 gaunt. It's a main unit that my opponent can't take lightly !
I love the slow effect on Barbgaunts, but they are fragile… I had a unit of Custodes deep strike behind them in one game and they didn’t stand a chance.
What happened to the Hierodules? I stop playing for a few months and they're gone? I own 3 of them and a dimachaeron... dont tell me I wasted over 1k on models I can't use anymore :(
after your own video on the tyrannofex damage output I can not understand how you have him higher than tier 3, especially with everyhting else in there I would rather take
My Winged Hive Tyrant has never done anything. It's a running joke now. Maybe I just roll bad but its a huge amount of points for little damage output.

I don't rate Venomthropes at tier 2, haven't seen any competitive army take them outside of the now Ending Swarm. Also OOE, without Carnifexes he loses his rerolls and drops to tier 3. Winged Hive Tyrant only tier 2 in Vanguard, otherwise tier 4. Makes no sense to have Broodlord + Genestealers at tier 2 and melee warriors as stand alone from Winged Prime in tier 3. Should be the other way around and rate Melee Warriors together with a Winged Prime.
Every unit in T3 is 15-40 pts too expensive for how little damage all of them do. "These guys can't kill anything tougher than a guardsman" should be the name of that tier.
@@scolack123 Warriors are 170pts for 6 models, and they badly need a Winged Prime to deliver them into melee, so you can say their sweet spot is 235pts. But I agree that they slap in combat and aren't overcosted after the changes.
@@facemite i disagree. hordes need to be more organically viable regardless of your army composition. nobody likes having "force org" taxes but the army identity goes out the window im one of the worst possible ways
Interesting take on the rankings but I feel like the recent Synapse rule for the nids was missed a lot. The Screamer Killer for Example will now be S11 so very Handy for Light anti Veichle like Rhinos etc and the Raveners also have Synapse on their Keyword which makes them handy again especially in Vanguard Onslaught lists. It's a ok overview of the Nids but due to their different roles in different detachments I feel like some are a little unfair
