Are you an avid gamer? Have you ever hacked into someone’s computer? And how many apps have you already programmed? We quizzed the computer science students at TU Dresden and wanted to know what's behind the computer science clichés. And how many IT problems can really be solved by turning devices off and on again?
As part of the “Hot Seat," they also reveal whether their grandparents always ask for their advice when they have a problem with the printer, and whether they actually prefer Linux to Windows or Mac.

Hot Seat:
Each episode focuses on a different group of people who all have something in common - be it that they share the same workplace, same degree program, or same research area. We ask them questions from our community and do away with clichés and prejudices.
A degree in #Computer Science at #TUDresden?
Computer science is a structural and methodological science which has seemingly endless possibilities of application and employment that cover an increasingly broad spectrum in our daily lives. It is based on the systematic processing, storage and transmission of digital information and focuses on the development of complex systems. The investigation of suitable design elements and methods for such systems is of key importance. Computer science combines formal methods and abstraction with solving complex problems. At TU Dresden, you can study computer science in the undergraduate degree programs doing a Bachelor or Diplom as well as continuing on to a Master's degree. Moreover, we offer a Bachelor's degree in Media Computer Science, which provides more in-depth knowledge of multimedia technologies and applications.
