Hey, I have a 🇬🇧 spec m218 gran coupe and your coding has just put Sport Plus on my car (it's a mini G Series) next in trying the exhaust flap !!

It is all fake speaker noise, unless u just like the speaker noise, the car is actually really quiet and the base model does 0-60mph in 7 secs.

Base model in US is 330i. Timing is 5.6 to 60 Pretty easily. You can also turn off the Speaker noise with Bimmercode pretty easily

Hmm, i don’t see why coding sport + would affect launch control, it’s in a different section of coding. A few things you can try first; are you driving enough miles before attempting launch control? I believe the manual says you have to drive 5 or 6 miles and the oil also hass to be up to temp, likely as an extra precaution to protect the cars components. Also make sure you’re only pressing the DCT button a single time, not holding it. And finally switch the car into S/M on the gear lever, put your foot fully on the break and then stomp the accelerator without hesitation. I had the initial problem of pressing the accelerator to slowly and it wouldn’t enable launch control. If all this fails, go back on Bimmercode and disable Sport + and see if that resolves the issue. If it does try coding sport +back in and see if it fixes itself.

Yes, just try the different options or revert the car to a backup. I have the Msport colors on mine still. None of this coding is permanent, you can always revert back.

That fan logo is just your car recirculating the air in your car. It has nothing to do with what you coded in.

Plug In the MHD adapter and make sure the light on it turns on to ensure its being powered. Then put your phone (or device you’re trying to connect) in Airplane mode with only Wi-Fi on. Connect your phone wifi to the MHD and you should be good.

Hmm, it may be because the f40 didn’t originally have sport Plus as an option in any region where as the G20 had it available in Europe and some other locations and just not in the US. Still strange to me, i feel it shouldn’t affect the pops and burbles

Yes, it’s actually available without Sport plus as long as your car has an “S” mode next to the shifter.

You may want to get checked at the dealer. You car may shake slightly during idle but it shouldn’t while driving. This would have nothing to do with coding as it doesn’t affect the engine.

Hmm, I’m not exactly sure where to find that feature. Body Domain does provide coding for lights but I would have to look into Bimmercode to find that exact section.

It disables traction control and allows you to have launch control. Also, If you have active suspension with the M sport package (which it looked like his car is) it stiffs it even more than sport mode. Mind you, traction control is never fully off in a newer bmw especially in an xDrive. Still don’t understand why his car didn’t have Sport+ with a car that has the M sport package.

@@phils6326 unless he actually has the sport line option which is just another package upgrade off the base 3 series that gives you, different wheels, red interior stitching and a red accent key fob which is what I have with my f30 (mine has sport+ from the factory) BMW may have changed coding in the G20 line for some unknown reason to only have Sport+ with the M-Sport package. The only way to know for sure is to read the window sticker/ verify VIN. Looking at the appearance means nothing since you can get M Sport bumper covers from a few different places at a reasonable price.

Would highly doubt coding this specifically would affect the warranty in any way. The dealership would have to believe it was truly the cause of whatever malfunction you would be submitting a warranty claim for. Considering most Countries outside of the US came with Sport+ already activated then it shouldn’t be the cause of any problems.

@@rearwheeled8147 Coding is enough argument for a dealer to preciselly argue that it was your unsupported and unoficial coding that led to whatever failure so don't risk it and do it out of warranty if you actually want to mess with the car.

You’re coding options that were within the perimeters of what BMW allowed. They placed the option there, you’re not altering code and adding options to an unsupported vehicle because the car simply wouldn’t allow it unless you unlock the DME. What could they argue in this situation? That Sport Plus caused catastrophic engine failure? How could they support that when some Asian and European countries already have the option included? I understand the worry about warranty but this is seriously one of the safer mods that a person could do.

@@rearwheeled8147 you are fundamentally misunderstanding the interests of the dealer/brand vs yours. It's your 50 grand but no dealer will ever uphold a car guarantee if you perform ECU and headunit updates with unoficial, unsupported tools and even more, done by non qualified dealer/BMW personnel. But again, you are the one that has solve the risk/gain equation.

Makes the car feel more aggressive. You’ll mostly tell by the transmission which will allow the car to reach higher RPM’s before shifting. It also makes the car a bit louder just due to the fact that it’ll holding onto the rpms and shifting more aggressively up and down. Won’t make the car faster but makes it fun.

I’ve had an issue once before. So what i do is put the phone(or tablet) in airplane mode then turn on wi-fi and search on my phone to connect to MHD. After that i open the Bimmercode app and connect. I’ve had to completely close the app and restart it at times.
