What is wrong with everyone in this comment section? He almost had to stop playing hockey entirely when he was young, and now he's the 6th overall pick in his draft class. Quit trying to mock this kid and prove to me that you can be drafted 6th overall and climb almost 2 entire round in your draft rankings. If you try to one-up someone with your own sorrows or opinions it doesn't necessarily make you better than him. Cody didn't want anyone to pity him, he put his head down and worked for this chance. Thank you to everyone in this comment section who actually recognizes how special this kid is.
Nothing is wrong with anyone. Everyone has their own story and no story is perfect and some people don't have help. Cody did. He is fortunate that he had help.
When Cody Glass was in peewees, he was picked up by a team to come play in my reserve. Just when he was in peewees, you can tell he was going somewhere with hockey. Had that natural ability skating, nice shot, he had a high hockey IQ. Awesome kid also. Way to go nice to see a Winnipeg boy drafted and also to Patrick. Good stuff
i was fortunate enough to watch this kid play growing up... he played against my kids team for years.. he always had sick hands and could score such beautiful goals... saw his dad around the rink all the time... seemed like a classy level headed hockey dad... never climbing the glass screaming at refs... and cody seemed humble... can't wait to see him play world juniors...
i was lucky enough to meet the Glass family when i played hockey and although i was just a third line enforcer ill always be thankful to have met and played and also been friends with them. I always come back to this video and the fact you would never know what they went through or were going through with them being the most compassionate funny people is just insane from Cody to Matt and Andrew love you all
Yea, whoever was responsible for making that happen was either not given enough time, or didnt put in the effort to make it look right. Holy hell that looks bad.
"Even though he doesn't have the most money in the world, he has the biggest heart." The biggest gift a parent can bestow is to nurture self-confidence, belief, and inner drive. Money can't buy that, kiddo.
This comment section is appalling. We go through a single incident in our lives and we look to milk the metaphorical cow. Anyone spouting "white kid problems", or trying to compare sob stories about how their life is so hard deserve no sympathy. If you're so desperate for everyone to hear how your problems are worse than his, do it in a SportsNet segment after being drafted 6th overall in a major sport; not your local summer baseball league.
All these hockey things always make it seem like its so much worse lol, everyone goes through loss it sucks but relax every day people go through this stuff
This story is vague as to his turmoil in childhood, and while divorce is painful, lots of kids go thru it, and don't have the money or opportunity to play competitive sports. This is overkill on the poor kid story just sayin
Not to sound like a jerk, because I'm a huge fan -- but this is the story of the vast majority of the middle class. I'm sorry my heart doesn't weep for him, having gone through all of this and much more. Does the rest of those who have gone through their lives with that struggle get any credit or spotlight? No, they get fired from their jobs they've been faithful to for budget reasons. No Rolex, no going away party. You're fired. Anyway, I wish luck to Cody. I love his game, I just don't see a story here.
ive got a great sob story, nhl hit me up, you can use me for a piece like this and then let me disappear in one of those russian leagues where intermission is polar bears wrestling cheerleaders. Ill even take half the pay if i get to go to the next 3 Stanley cup series finals and a couple all-star games
GregersenGAINZ but a custody battle and being separated from your brother for 6 months is a hard story. Did mommy and daddy not give you enough attention, or are you made you didn't get drafted?
There's a lot that goes in to the players journey that they don't talk about . Them getting to the NHL doesn't mean their life was perfect it just means there hard work payed off
