A song full of truth and some words he never said with those whiskey remedies and those old school melodies you can't forget❤❤❤feels like merle haggard to me. I love it.
Church, Stapleton, Johnson, Jinks, Childers, Wall, Simpson. Thumbs up if that's your playlist. Country isn't dead, those listed above are the legends of tomorrow.
I can’t stop playing this song, it’s one of those I’ve gotten stuck in my head. Most of his songs are rich in affinity, and can take you back to our country should sound like with a little tiny edge to it. Keep up the great work, you have fans that are supporting you and lifting you up and standing behind you, because you are a great artist and you deserve to be more recognized, it’ll happen just have faith !!!! ✌️🙏❣️✌️
Wow! My new favorite song! The sound of traditional country & the lyrics are cleverly written, topped off with Cody's voice...a perfectly balanced mix of genius!
I'm a country boy thru & thru, and this boy def hits a HR w/his real country sound. So sick of the fakes & wannabes the record industry thinks they can fool real country folks with. Keep doing what you do partner. Love it:)
Still my favorite Cojo song. Instantly fell it love with it when the album came out, and have listened to it almost daily since. The instruments are just as poetic as the lyrics, and Cody can't help but be tremendous in marrying the two. Hadn't been able to see him live since I was introduced back in 2014, but saw him at the Dos Equis Pavilion back in March of '22. His band is everything you'd hope for and more.
Cody Johnson, I absolutely love this song. This is the kind of Country Music that I truly get into.. Thank you for sharing all of your talents with us. You are awesome.😊🎶💜🎶
I got in a pretty bad rollover wreck last week and the whole time to the hospital I couldn't get this song outta my head this was the 1st song I listened to as soon as I got my phone back thanks @Cody Johnson
Hey Sir I sure hope you recovered from that roll over!!.. Cody Music has helped me through my Mama recently passing.. Im so sad ... 3 weeks now Iv lost my mama.. Cody music sure is a blessing to assist the tears..
I have been so sick of most everything coming out of Nashville the last several years that I have listened to only 80's and 90's country on Sirius/XM. The other day, I was listening to Ronnie Dunn's Road Trip on Prime Country when he played one of Cody Johnson's songs, and I was hooked. This song takes me back to when I was a kid and I first heard George Strait's Amarillo By Morning. It's just that good!!
Mr. Cody Johnson just can’t put out a bad song! Love all his music & I guess I have a new song to listen to on repeat after listening to Human daily since it’s release. 💯✌️⭐️ Also, if you have to ask who Jackson Brown is…..you want get this song yet ✌️ *give it a few years!
An unexplained, easy listening rhythm with the classic George Strait voice but heel tapping, shoulder swaying cadence of Lionel Richie. This has the same substance and ease as "Lay Low" Josh Turner. Love this sound. Absolutely love it. Could listen to this song and sound over and over. You're the real deal dude. Love when artists put their focus in transferring substance to their music rather than trying to merely show case a powerhouse voice, but when it comes down to it they have the "powerhouse" to back it up... Love it man! Please make more of this music and don't loose that sound? That's a genuine question.
God I love you this is what country should be these days none of this other stuff what we've been listening to this is truly the best and the most realest country music you over here I love it so much. cody keep up the great work
think i just loved her to much she run all the way to the west coast and left me heart broken how miss that pretty little smile Dont nobody tell me That God dont love her he sent to me to show her that is a man on this earth that really loves her he sangs to the girl he loves and he doesnt have any money but he sangs to her on the radio God is so good to both of them
Literally one of my instant favorites, it should be law that all people have to give Cody a chance, because then every American would be on cojo nation
I can't STOP playing this song...my boyfriend says he wushes that I COULD get it outta my head...for his sake. Lol. Because I am ALWAYS humming or singing it...how can u NOT.. Cody, u amaze me with ur talent. And the fact that ur a red blodded American family man, who DOESN'T APOLOGIZE for that or his FAITH in his Lord Jesus...💜🌻💜
When the GOAT is referenced in the title and is the prominent subject of the song, it's worthy of a listen. RIP, Merle. The undisputed greatest all-around country music artist to ever live. Singer, songwriter, musician, band leader, impressionist.....who compares? It's a race for 2nd place, because there's Merle, and then there's everybody else.
Wow it has taken a month for me to get this album from USA to UK but OMG it is so worth the wait, fab gritty voice that is so soothing, Country music as it should be. Hope he tours the UK this year.
Cody Johnson, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan and the 78's, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Sturgill, and Ashley Mcbride are the best newer country singers out there! Thoughts?
Monday Morning Merle don’t worry ‘bout the girl he used to love Tuesday he’s throwback Springsteen “Devils and Dust” Wednesday spins The Beatles Thursday it’s The Eagles “Take it easy” til that Friday rocks his world After Saturday all Jackson Brown he’s “Sunday Morning Comin’ Down” then he’s right back to missing that girl Turns up “Misery and Gin”, here we are again at Monday Morning Merle Monday Morning Merle lets that old broken heart get back to work He hides all the holes and hurt under the dirt on his shirt And the only way that he can get through the days and the regret is a song full of truth with some words he never said with those whiskey remedies and those old school melodies you can’t forget That’s why on Wednesday spins The Beatles Thursday it’s The Eagles “Take it Easy” til that Friday rocks his world After Saturday all Jackson Brown he’s “Sunday Morning Comin’ Down” and he’s right back to missing that girl Turns up “Misery and Gin” here we are again at Monday Morning Merle Wednesday spins The Beatles Thursday it’s The Eagles “Take it Easy” til that Friday rocks his world After Saturday all Jackson Brown he’s “Sunday Morning Comin’ Down” and he’s right back to missing that girl Turns up “Misery and Gin” here we are again at Monday Morning Merle That’s just the way I am... Ashlyn, thank you so much for taking the time to post this. It is always nice to see the wonderful writing skills these singers have. Cody is awesome...so are you for doing this for us.
One of the best things of this songs for you is that you're not using many instruments to make a one song better or to make someone listen the song❤❤❤❤
Cody is saving country music one album at a time. Love your music man, you got that old rasp to ya that you find in the older county genre. Keep it up 🤘🏻
Just when I thought real country music was doomed, I heard about Cody. This guy will fill George Strait's boots. Let's hope the great state of Texas keeps great country singers coming, because as Alan Jackson once sang, someone killed country music. That someone is the Nashville recording studios.
Man u touching so many people in our small town rainsville alabama north east we all love all love ya you going to bring back real country music my was marle vern Conway keep it coming brother
