I often get asked if it's hard being away from the kids. The answer is yes, especially when one of my cubs needs their mama as was the case a few weeks ago.
A few weeks ago I flew back to Calgary to take care of my son who was very ill. He is ok now and I'm grateful for our excellent Canadian healthcare system and the nurses and doctors who work in it. It will always be hard to be away from them but at least I'm only a short plane flight away.
