Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

This is amazing Bee! I am 65 and must have suffered all my life from this. I knew it and felt two weeks of self destruction monthly. Professionals had no idea. I secretly obsessed about cutting off my left arm to make myself feel better. I felt like I was crazy. After a complete hysterectomy of everything, and a chance for my hormonal levels to even out, I don’t EVER have those feelings. You know you did the right thing but in six months you will REALLY know. I can’t even explain the peace in my soul now. You will know that peace soon💕I am excited for you! A full hysterectomy is often a vast relief for women. My own mother had it and her emotional health improved vastly, no more pre-menstrual anger, irritability. I don't know about PMDD but your explanation is very clear. That's got to help women understand why they go through hell monthly. Laparoscopic surgery is amazing, I had surgery done this way. I wonder why they "pick on" our belly buttons? I don't have one now. From memory, it may take quite a while to rebalance yourself, but it's wonderful on this other side. Patience and respect for yourself will be so much stronger now, Bea. Thank YOU for everything you told us. ❤️💞

You are so brave to share your BATTLES with PMDD. I’m coming up on my 76th birthday and i’ve never heard of this syndrome that affects so many women. The fact you’ve gone public with your journey will help so many silent sufferers who don’t know what is happening with them seek the medical help they need. You and your public platforms will assist them in educating themselves on the where to find the correct avenues to arm their selves in finding the medical help that is needed. SELF ADVOCACY IS SO IMPORTANT LADIES. Finding a doctor who is knowledgeable about PMDD. Thanks Bea for educating us about PMDD

Oh Bea I’m sorry you have had to suffer through this. I went through this in 1998 when PMDD was just a little whisper. I’m a retired Psych Nurse and knew my mood swing and brooding had to be caused by my own body, I too was found to have huge fibroids one the size of a softball! We’ll after having my total hysterectomy at about month 3 I was an absolute new person 😁, it’s been nearly 27 years and life is still awesome and glorious. I wish you well Sweetie you’re going to be totally fine, you are a very brave woman Bea, and tough. You are amazing and a survivor. I was suicidal after I had my first baby. I thought I was going crazy. It was post natal depression and didn't have a clue. That experience helped me save someone's life because I knew what being suicidal felt like. Apart from his life, I saved my own as he wanted to murder (me) before taking his own life. I calmly talked him out of doing anything. What felt to you as a curse at the time, will and is as blessing. Because you have been through it, you are able to help others. You will help others better than a doctor that has only read about it. You lived it and will be more understanding to others that are going through the hell that you were living all those years. You and Theo are soul mates. He mentions your name and he melts. Everything he does is with you in mind, to make Bee happy. Thank you for sharing and wishing you a wonderful blessed future 🙏 ♥️♥️♥️

Bee, I am so with you on this. I had the same issues. My GYN did a laparoscopic exploratory and found the endometriosis, we already knew about the fibroid cysts covering both ovaries and he said we would talk about the possibility of PMDD after the exploratory. But when I woke up He said I should just go ahead and have it all taken out. I did and have never regretted it. No more bleeding for three weeks at a time or wanting to just walk up to total strangers and slap them type of thoughts. It can be so hard not to understand what your body is doing to you or why. Mine was done thirty years ago and I now live with the peace I always looked for. You go girl and don't let anyone ever tell you that you did the wrong thing because you did the best thing you could do for yourself and Theo.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I am a 43 year old male who was raised by an Internist (mother) and a Nurse Practitioner (father). Growing up, my parents spared me very few details about the human body and what can impact it. That said, I am constantly astonished at the number and frequency of afflictions that women face that I have, frankly, never heard of. It took gaining adulthood and a wide variety of female friends for me to realize the ubiquitous nature of miscarriages, for example. It never occurred to me that it was that widespread of an experience. So, again, thank you for having the courage to help educate this middle-aged fool about yet another thing I did not know y'all (1 in 20, wasn't it?) face on the regular.

As a nurse in the US I want to thank you for this video and I have come across plenty of women with this same issue. Educating the public and medical professionals is important but do not over do because it can take up to a year to totally recover. Having a separate platform is a great idea so people can share their stories. Have a speedy recovery and welcome back. Love to you, Leo and your furry family….

When I listen to you talking I cried as I have never met anyone that was like me and your story is word for word the same. I now love every minute of life. Wow Bee, what a woman! You are absolutely my hero, after all you have suffered you speak so eloquently about your experiences and I’m sure your story will give courage to many women. Not just PMDD sufferers but those who suffer with any female related conditions. 33 years ago, I was given a hysterectomy at age 25 and then had everything else removed when I was 32. I felt very much alone with my suffering and like nobody could really understand how I felt. Furthermore I had developed awful life changing and debilitating adhesions prior to my surgeries which complicated things somewhat. I really could’ve done with hearing someone like you and seeing how you have changed your life, I definitely would’ve had the courage to self advocate rather than going along with decisions made by male physicians who claimed to know what was best for me. I wish you every success in your recovery and a very long and happy life in whatever endeavours you choose. I think Theo has also demonstrated what a real man looks and behaves like with how he has represented you and supported you, particularly over the last few years. You truly deserve each other! Wishing you both health, wealth and happiness 💞

Hysterectomy at age 27 left ovaries ( not my choice)laparoscopy but changed my health for the better mentally physically. Not PMDD but still heavy toll . Hormones make me sick . I’m so glad you are sharing your story. Been that low myself so glad that I’m free. Your honesty will save many. You are amazing. It’s not selfish it’s your brain and body betraying you. You will help many. You made right choice to be in UK because that surgery is serious. Women need heard and treated . So glad you had good advocates . Hot flashes are the devil. You are being brave.

Darling Bee, to realize you have dealing with this for all the years I’ve been watching you all is mind blowing! I still see you as a very positive, honest person, but I have a new appreciation for your strength. Re the ADHD, I wasn’t officially diagnosed until I was 58! I’ve had a lot of craziness (as so many have) and my ADHD (effecting executive functioning and emotional regulation) was /is out of control due to so many life changes. None of my old routines or strategies were working. I understand how all of the anxiety and changes you have faced could really amp up the ADHD issues. My heart goes out to you and wants to give you a kindred spirited hug. You are brave and so strong, even when you don’t feel so!

Thank you Bee!! I had to have a total radical hysterectomy on Jan 8th. They found pre-cancerous cells in my uterus. My surgery also went a bit longer because they found cysts on the ovaries and my uterus was mis-shaped and large. Although your journey is different I am just so thankful for you sharing…that somehow I am not alone in all the changes and challenges I have been walking through! I appreciate you (and Theo) and love being part of this community!!

Bee you’re so brave to tell your story. I also suffered from pmdd. My generation wasn’t taken seriously and I suffered horribly. Peri menopause was pmdd on steroids! Now on the other side life is good, if only yrs ago I had been offered a hysterectomy. Just so glad you’re on the road to recovery ❤

Kathleen here I watched my mother suffer her whole life with PMDD but that was long ago as I am 72 . She was not diagnosed. Oh Bea I am so very glad you chose the surgery and I pray it gives you great physical and mental relief! I beg you do not torture yourself with any guilt as to the distress the condition brought to your mom or Theo. I only wished joy for my motvher as I know Theo and your mom want for you as do I. Bea I want to add my thanks to you for explaining about the surgury and how PMDD works and effects women. I had my hystrectomy at 38 and was so thankful. I too had a large cyst on my uterous and wow the relief from that alone was amazing. I have been on estroderm patches ever since finding I was allergic to Premerin shortly after the surgury and feel great. I am now a very active 76 and would like women to know that there is no reason to end HRT. I had a NP who kept telling me she would take me off at 70 and I jokingly told her I would get them on the Black Market if need be. She did drop me like an anvil out of an airplane when I turned 70 and it was awful. I went to the head doctor of the practice and she put me back on because she said there were at least 3 reasons it was good for me. My life is awesome with the patches. I do hope you feel as well with yours as I do with mine. And once again thank you for sharing your life and adventures of all sorts with us. We trully love you and Theo and will always be here for you if you need us.

Thank you for speaking out on this topic Bee, it's so so important that we all know about this, and understand that it's a serious condition. Thankfully I just had PMS, and used to turn into a bit of a monster at times, with huge brain fog and fears of mistakes I might make at the time. Thankfully I went through menopause reasonably easy (with the horrid sweats!) and am out at the other end, thank God! Being a woman is certainly not easy.

Bee, thank you for sharing about PMDD. When put on progesterone when in my 30s, I had insane hallucinations and would drive around at night looking for my dead cats (I didn’t have cats) And yet only ONE doctor mentioned that prog can affect some women like this. And didn’t say anything beyond that or offer help. I wish I knew more earlier. It is really debilitating. But I am so glad to know more now. I appreciate you so much! So glad you are feeling good!! I’m so happy for you that you discovered what was happening and why. I’m 70 and suffered from what I thought of as violent PMS. Due to ovarian cysts and another issue I eventually had a complete hysterectomy and my life changed dramatically. Had I known about PMDD I would have had it earlier than the age I was at of 46. The only slim down side to the hysterectomy was a lowering of libido but have since discovered our largest sex organ is our brain, and whatever I tell myself changes how I feel. So I say, “I’m sexy” then I feel sexy. You are doing a wonderful thing by sharing your experience. I always felt complete shame during the time between my PMS. I was like Jekyll and Hyde. I never experienced suicidal thoughts but did live in a destructive self loathing kind of way, especially in my 20's and to my mid 30's. Best wishes for continued good feeling. We love your show!

I am 70 now and wish the information available today had been there for me. It could have changed my life. I am fine but had to figure it out on my own.I am so glad you are sharing this. You are very well spoken and really conveyed what this disease/condition is. I had experienced a different condition that came after childbirth, but it was in the extreme. Drs just blew you off back then because they knew nothing and dismissed the seriousness of the problem. They loved to give you valuim. (Which had ridiculous side effects and didn’t work) Keep it up! You are brave and a great help and may save someone else’s life.❤

You are doing an world of good by opening up about this struggle. My step sister had it in high school. She took birth control pills and I believe after she married and had kids the symptoms were less. I do remember her saying at one point she would gladly have a hysterectomy too. God bless you for sharing your story. One in 20 is a lot. Women's health does not get the attention it needs. Hey Girl, you look "sassy" I have always admired your style, personality. clothes, hair and glasses......Thank you, I am 60 and was only diagnosed with endometriosis after fibroid surgery at 56. Listening to you speak now I realise that I have had symptoms of PMDD since my teenage years and being told by the family Dr that I am a woman and just needed to get use to it....thank goodness times have changed. Thank for sharing your incredible struggle! I’m 74 years old and over the years have known a few girls who had debilitating periods every month. I always had sympathy for them but didn’t understand how life changing these periods were. I’m so sorry you’ve and all women have had these issues. Thank you for sharing! 43 years ago at age 43 l had the surgery that changed my life too. I had struggled for years, back then I got no hormones because they were afraid the endometriosis would come back. Cold Turkey! At age 60 a doctor decided I should start them. It was too much too late. So nothing! I am a happy 86 yr old.

Aw, how you both must have suffered over the years. I'm so sorry for that. Listening to what you had to say, and how your cycle affected your mental and physical health...you have made the best decision in having the operation. There's no looking back now, no more damned periods, and happily no more instability in your mental health. I too have been on Venlafaxine for many years now, for depression and anxiety, and just WOW, as soon as I began taking it, I felt like a black cloud had been lifted from over me. I'm in my 60's, unlike you, you lovely young woman...it is time for you both to really enjoy your lives and each other😉 I wish with all my heart that your health continues in a positive way, and you go from strength to strength. Bee, Congrats to you for taking control of YOUR life the way you choose. Your video was brave, educational, and what a huge help for women. I never heard of PMDD before. The lows are true and real with depression, that I know. I have been there. It is your body, your life. Take care of you and then you can take care of others. As Kinging it! says, "Rule Your Own Life." I am so very proud of you. You make a huge difference. ADHD is also a life changing diagnosis, but, there is more help for ADHD. Understanding ADHD helps. And my menopause lasted from mid 30's to 59!! I am so glad you have such a loving and supportive life partner (Leo) and supportive family member (your mom). Bee ,thank you for sharing your journey . All the facts really helped me understand your process and my own. I had Endremetros and cysts on my ovaries at age 30. It a very violent pain each month.. My surgery took 3 hours with 2 surgents working on me removing tissue on my intestines and etc. I'm 71 now. Can't imagine having the other issues. Your truly an incredible human being to go thru all this. So glad you made ii thru. Sending you lots of love and hugs. ❤❤❤

Thank you for your bravery in talking about this. I taught with someone whom I think has this. She thought it was extreme PMS. She really suffered! I had a tumor on my thyroid while going through minapause. I thought I was going crazy. Thank God, removal of 1\2 my thyroid helped. I had to beg them to give me low dose hormones. I didn't want to be 13 again, I just wanted to feel like me emotionally. You are one amazingly strong lady to have gone through this. 👏 Bravo, that you are back to feeling like "you" again! I've suffered from endometriosis my whole life and living in the US makes it so difficult to have a particial hysterectomy. I did end up having uterine ablasion which has helped some but I'd love to get rid of it all together. I'm really glad you were able to get help and that it's going well. Thank you for talking about this. Women don't talk about it and a lot of men don't understand.

I'm a fairly new subscriber, and so yesterday I had actually tried to catch up and understand the situation of why you were gone from the farm and what your surgery was about.. and I put the pieces together... but now you confirmed it. I am very happy for you and I can only imagine how hopeful you must feel right now. I, too, suffer from debilitating PMDD and I know exactly what you are talking about when you're describing what it's like. It's horrible and absolutely life wrecking. I'm very glad for you and you inspire me to really think about this last resort treatment at some point. I'll give it a couple more years to try the things thoroughly that I am trying at the moment. Thank you Bea for posting this. I have a sister that I believe has PMDD. She no longer has such major symptoms. She had a hysterectmy at 32. Doctors always said oh it's just bad PMS but... You know. The surgery was due to severe endometriosis. But regardless of the reason it had an amazing effect on her life. I hope your journey forward will be just as good as hers has been. Oh, did not say she is now 59. Bless you for bringing a difficult topic out in the open. So many people need to know they are not the only ones. Hugs for you and Theo.

Bea, you are such a brave young lady. It is so wonderful your life, since surgery, has improved so much. You are such a lovely person and deserve a quality of life that allows you to live the life you want, instead of being entrapped with your pre-surgery symptoms and trying to live around them. I to, had a complete total hysterectomy and I know since the surgery I have felt so much better. Because of my age, I am not having hormone replacement therapy, which is working out just fine for me. I naturally had gone through the menopause cycle at a younger age, so my internal female organs were not required. I had previously been blessed one child before all the trouble began. I wish you the good life in the future and knowing you from your website, you will make up for lost time. :) So well deserved. Always enjoy everything life has to offer. I must say, Theo is a champion to keep on building your dream while you were healing emotionally and physically. It must have been very hard for him. You are a strong young couple and it goes without saying you both will do so many amazing things during your life. I do hope, that every so often, you give an update on how you are feeling since your surgery. This information is so important for those who also suffer from this condition as well. Absolutely brilliant bea, you will be helping so many other women that are suffering, many in silence because they don't think there is help out there for them , I had a 10 year battle to get a full hysterectomy , this vlog should be taken on by the NHS and advised to watch by doctor's and hospitals. Bea, thanks for sharing your experience with PMDD. I am happy to hear you were able to find a doctor who believed you. Here in the US, it took 10 years for me to be diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, and only after I switched to a woman doctor who FINALLY listened to me and my symptoms. The journey afterward became easier once a professional was in my corner. I'm so glad you are on the mend. Theo is great at doing videos, but your spark was definitely missing. Welcome home!
