Now that you have a method to accumulate polluted water with germs
• infinite bathroom - Ox... you can spend it on your dupes happyness.
This RU-vid short shows a method to plant pincha peppernuts
aka the duplicants coffee in a chlorine atmosphere without the use of gas pumps.
This environment also allowes the balm lily to grow.
Sensor Settings:

I've just finished a variant of that build of yours Luma. Instead of balm lily, I decided to plant thimble reed instead and in that case both plants can grow in oxygen. I guess I have to keep an eye on this build later because there is just 2°C of différence between those plants and I set the thermo-meter on the sweet spot of 36°C. So far so good.

Hey Zennitio. That can go well but also wilt your plant. The thermo regulation is not an exact thing. Since the time the temperature sensor needs to heat up to the surrounding temperature can be a little longer thatn the tepidizer need to heat up all the water. meaning it will stay on and cook the water even more. so it is always good to plan in a little bit more leeway.

That's actually super smart to use water boiler instead of raising room temperature, it made me wonder, maby it is worth to pop one aqua tuner inside to make use of some of the energy from cooling loop

make sure the dupes wear atmo suits while building this or else you'll get some rogue CO2 running your vacuum. i learned that part the hard way 😂

Dupes don't exhale or breath in vacuum. Only the masks allow them to exhale in vacuum. Suits are fine when you have them. Not sure about the farting dupes. They can ruin everything :D

I had one farting dupe on a magma channels asteroid and after carefully making a vacuum, setting up electronics, and getting ready to harvest a volcano for power, my farting dupe managed to circumvent the door that kept him out and destroyed everything

Thx. You can drop the bleachstone anywhere in the vacumed room, but not in the water. Then it will offgas some chlorine. Now you got a chlorine room. The plants will start growing when their gas pressure requirements are met.

Hi@Sundrop You can see what a plant consumes or needs by clicking on the plant. As of now: Balm lily does not consume chlorine but one of the other plants does (can't remember which one). So no refill for Balm lily needed (for now)

@Inkura Dasha saltvines consume chlorine from the air. Pincha peppers don't care what environment they're in, only that there's 150g of pressure, and balm lillies require chlorine but don't consume it. I think the point of growing them both in chlorine is to eliminate contamination from using germy polluted water.

I love this coffee farm tutorial. Too bad I don't know where to get the infinite polluted water source (I realized I can use the natural gas generator I found in Luma plays channel)

Oh yeah that Luma guy I have heard of him :D. If you are lucky in game you get an cool slush geyser which is basically infinite polluted water (very cold, need heating as shown) Or you can use the output of a petroleum generator (hot, needs cooling)

Compact and neat design. I usually use the heat from ethanol produced by distiller to maintain the temparature, use the farm itself as a cooler(or intercooler) for ethanol when the polluted water is a little bit cold to be supplyed to the farm directly.

Balm lily only have very limited use cases like food for dreckos or as medicine. But you can also plant other plants that accept an chlorine atmosphere there.

I have a cool steam vent, can I remove the use of heater and instead run water from that vent to the farm to increase temperature?

Yes sure. Every heat source that reaches the desired temperature should work. You still have to keep the Temperature in the heat-range were the plants can grow though. :)

@@superspies32 That could work. In case that is not temperature stable enough: You can pipe the hot water through the water tank under the farm tiles and stop it automatically when the target temperature range is reached.

Em, is there a reason for Liquid Pump? 120 watts is not a problem, but wouldn't Auto-Sweeper be a better deal?

The pump isn't needed at all depending where your liquid comes from. If it is already in pipes like shown you don"t need thw pump just hook it up to the storage directly. But you could also just drip it in from somewhere so i used the pump it to symbolyze that. It is also an early video of mine so i didn't know how to make the text edits 😅

Why balm Lillie’s though? Those require no fertilization and thus it’s easier to just build more tiles to grow them instead of using fertilizer.

Hey Machixinus, Balm lilies don't require fertilization in a farm tile. They are always free no matter where they grow (dtill the atmosphere needs to be there) i used them as an example that you can add plants in multiple rows. If you want to use it as ranch add a few dreckos. they eat the balm lilies and make meat foe bbq. without any hydrogen you can only shear them though.

Yeah that was unnecessary. I wanted to symbolyze a polluted water source (the incoming polluted water) and a storage (the storage plus pump to the top left). But i didn't really make that clear.

You don't need to I like to have them both sides of the liquid tepidizer. And it is not like they are super expensive :)

Keep at it. Oxygen not included needs alot of knowledge (that the game doesn't tell you). RU-vid and the ONi wiki can help a lot. I tried the first 6 cycles 15 times just to see what different outcomes are possible before going on. Also don't be afraid of ruining your colony; each catastrophic failure can lead to useful setups or quick fixes.

The liquid tepidizer only works in water (and only if there is enough of it) so in order to tempersture controll the plants with this method a liquid is needed.

To increase the storage size. Can also be seen as a place golder for a larger storage but in itself as shown is a germ reduction system. Not needed but it has the typical size of one. ao you could integrate another modular system here.

Ah nice :). I was just showing what could be done with a chlorine room that is temperature conntrolled. You can plant any plant you want that needs that atmosphere there.
