This is actually an interesting study in *Swedish dialects and accents*, for any one who isn't Swedish. Even though the interview is in english, you can CLEARLY hear the differences between the westcoast *Gothenburg* accent (Henrik) and the *Stockholm* accent (Ola) (Sorry for the nerdy comment. Languages, dialects and accents are just incredibly fascinating to me...)

Never heard of this guy but I saw his signature guitar for sale and really like it. I had to Google him and it brought me here. I still want the guitar lol

Seeing you Ola mentioning that the riff of 'More Than Ever' is one of your all time favorite riffs and then seeing Henrik playing it really gave me goosebumps and brought tears in my eyes... One of your best episodes. This show is one of your best works but this episode in particular made me feel like watching it again and again.

Amazing player, saw Evergry last night in Helsingborg, they are so good, played forever, they really had it going last night, happy like small kids on stage. They really fired up the crowd. Henrik even lost it a little and shots away a couple of plectrums :-) He was feeling rich.

One of my all time favorite players from one of my all time favorites. A hugely underrated band and guitarist in the states. Thank you, Ola.

I missed out on the peak of heavy metal in the 80s/90s but Evergrey and Nevermore were releasing incredible albums in my lifetime so they hold a special place in my heart. Loomis gets some of the credit he deserves (Still not enough) but as you say Henrik and Tom are completely underrated as guitarists etc. Really appreciate this interview.

This is AWESOME. Evergrey is one of our favorites. BenFo got to meet Henrik when they came around a few months back. He's one of Sweden's best. "More Than Ever" is one of the heaviest songs ever!!

Henrik and Tom of Evergrey are both phenomenal players who always seem to hit the right notes at the right times. INCREDIBLE phrasing, tone, and vibrato. Jonas, Johan (pinkies out), and Rikard are all tops as well! VERY cool dudes too! GO SEE THEM when you can! BUY THEIR MUSIC!!!!!

Henrik is still my inspiration. I play the guitare since 18 years.. No one else inspires me more than him. It's all about feeling, heart and balls.

What also impresses me is how well Europeans speak english, as an Englishman we are guilty of expecting people to just know english, this was awesome, super cool dudes, never listened to evergrey before, going to get played to death on my Spotify now, Ola strikes again introducing new metal to me. Didn't know this chat actually happened, glad to find it. Been a Evergrey fan since 2000's, Henrik's solos are such masterpieces, Visions being my favorite. He seems like a genuine dude.

Saw him with Evergrey in Barletta (Italy) few years ago. He was just right in front of me. Amazing performance, amazing showmanship. Henrik the great.

Great interview I'm an enormous fan of evergrey one of my favorite bands and yes you may is also one of my favorite guitar players. Just wanted to let you know some of the best playing advice was from Yngwie and he told me to play with my ears not play by ear. And if it sounds right it is right.

When people come on your show sometimes I have never heard of them. Now I feel like I have and am likely to follow them.

Thank you so much for doing this interview Ola. I just wached it for the second time since you posted it and really enjoyed it. I agree with you that Henrik is a seriously underrated guitar player. Like all the other guys in Evergrey, he seems like a very down-to-earth and nice guy as well. I own the "A Night To Remember" DVD from the live show that you mentioned in the interview. Evergrey was my absolute favorite band during that time period and "In Search Of Truth" is still one of my favorite albums of all time. They lost me for a while though with "Monday Morning Apocalypse" sounding like they were trying to compete with the likes of Nickelback or something. While I mostly liked the music on "Glorious Collision" (which didn't even feature Henrik on guitar) I just couldn't listen to it due to the absolutely atrocious production value. Overly compressed, distorted and possibly the most obnoxious sounding snare drum I've ever heard. Needless to say I was delighted to see them all come back together again and truly return to form with "Hymns For The Broken". Now THERE was the Evergrey that I know and love. I'm super glad to hear that you are also a fan. Like you said they're kind of progressive metal only darker. That is what I love about their sound. They are really quite unique in the genre. So it's nice to see them get some much-needed attention. Once again, thanks for a truly great episode of Coffee With Ola.
