for a whole life kiryu cried only couple of times, in games at least, but damn, that one was tough, like all of his hidden emotions were right there in that last scene

I had just finished this last night and when I saw that ending I *knew* it was going to get Cohh. It ripped my heart out, I'm easily emotional especially when it comes to others emotions (even if its just a piece of fiction) and I was crying so hard. I had to pause and clean my glasses because they fogged up so much. I needed the cry though because it ripped out a lot of stuff I think I had let build up recently. It was so powerful. The use of first person through Kiryu as the tears flowed, man. I feel like a lot of us can relate to. Your emotions well up as you're peering down at something and you see that first drop hit and suddenly its like a waterfall. Hands shaking. Life can be a really scary, uncertain place, especially right now, and if you've had one of those moments recently and are reading this comment I give a huge hug to you. ❤ You'll be okay. Hang in there and don't give up.

Kuroda best performance in a game award? He was amazing. When the English dub comes out, if they can't pull off that end scene than just don't bother.

Jesus Christ I didn't expect to ugly cry during that whole scene, I guess just like with kiryu everything came crashing. You remember all the games, all the time, everything you've been through with this guy and him reacting like this promptly breaks you too.

Second time watching this, still cried as much as Kiryu did, snot and everything. Nothing breaks my heart more than a good person, who have been sacrificing for literal decades finally breaking down, and releasing some of the pain that he ave been bottling up all this time.

That ending destroyed me. i just completed the game and i was balling my eyes out to that ending when he sees the video. everything hes been through for those kids and then seeing them like that... damn that hit so hard.

31:47 what Gaiden did is freeing Kiryu from his... 'burdens' (Probably there's a better word than this.). 1. He realizes that the children didn't need him anymore and it was he himself who cling on too hard for his own good, the kids are going to be just FINE and it's best for both side of them for him to step out of the bitter situation. 2. Yakuza is no more, he's no longer that poor 4th chairman who has to rescue the day once again, he's free from his duty. 3. Passing the torch to Ichiban, I guess. 4. Post credit, he could be finally letting go his past, finally after all these years. He can totally accept his situation (Which seems rather quite promising excluding unable to go back to the kids) and finally do his own stuff now. Kiryu Kazama is (sorta) free now. With that, he kinda finish his era and purpose, unless they manage to write something impressive, I doubt Kiryu getting any sequel anymore. Now... Let's see what 8 has to offer for Kiryu,

Kiryu sees that for all the hell he went through....his kids are ok, and he only has a few people he can try to share it with, for someone so reserved he is desperate for have one moment he can share how proud he is of his children. I was particuarly proud of Taichi, in Yakuza 5 he wrote to Haruka saying he wanted to step up and take care of the others as he was the eldest boy there, since Ayako was probably the one doing most of the legwork being the only other elder there, now he is stepping up to take care of anyone he help as a firefighter, he inherited that aspect from Kiryu and it shows how proud he is. As for that person, Hanawa? Well, who he could be? Well.... It's potentially someone whose death was not confirmed in Yakuza 5, look at their voice actors.

Hanawa did meet Kiryu before when he was Taichi Suzuki. Hanawa is Morinaga from Yakuza 5. They have the same voice actor, not to mention Morinaga had an off-screen death and was one of the few people that knew Kiryu's identity back then.

I don't think I agree that you can play Infinite Wealth with just playing 7. That's a really bad idea cause the game is going to be about Kiryu along with all the stuff set up in this game

*Spoiler warning* . . . . . . . . . . Hanawa is more or less confirmed to be Morinaga from Yakuza 5. They have the same Voice Actor for the Japanese voice and he is also one of the few people who -had a reason to erase his identity -knows Kiryu as Taichi Suzuki -died *off screen* so not actually dead Will be fun to see where the next game takes his story as it's also confirmed that he will be in "Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth"

NGL I had to hold back the tears on that part but one got out. It's been a 3 years since Kiryu left which means Haruto is now 7 years old and Haruka is about 26, we first meet her in YK1 when she was 9 I believe. It's been a whiled ride 🥲

I am..... thankful I was watching this in the comfort of my own home, unlike when I watched that ghost side quest in Like a Dragon. Holy Mother duck that hit on every emotion in the spectrum, but...... so good (itchy)👏👏

i dunno what it was with the last boss but for me some of his moves would just one shot me on prof. watching cohh here, he hardly hurt him at all, yet i was wearing much better gear. not sure whats going on there.

Dude must have put like no upgrades into his Health, seeing how much damage he's taking. This boss did barely any damage to me with maxed health(after the Coliseum).

Omg I cried so much. Kiryu is known for being more stoic and keeping everything bottled up but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love as much if not even more than others. 😢 I can’t wait to see more of his journey in the next game! Ichiban is such a great character that I feel really good about the games passing the torch while not forgetting the amazing journey of Kiryu.
