If you want to learn how I troll plugs on the Green/ Duwamish River for Huge Kings and Coho this is the video for you! What an amazing couple days of filming on the river fishing for these fresh and hyper fish. Fishing the past 2 weeks since opening day for salmon on the Duwamish has been awesome. With the first week being a little slow, the second week came around with lots of fresh Coho pushing up and with that we were having 4+ fish days with a couple kings thrown in the mix. And I gotta say, the plug bite is most likely one of my favorite bites of all time. These fish DOUBLE OVER these bass rods with extreme force. Even some of the little fish hit like trucks! This fishery is also amazing cause you don’t need lots of gear to get fishin. Im using my favorite bass rod with 30lbs izorline spectra braid, a weight slider with a 3-4oz fishermans gold cannonball weight, bead, bead chain swivel, 6ft of 20lbs izorline mono for leader and a orange plug in the morning then green / chartreuse later in the day. Dropping the setup down to bottom and 2-4 cranks up off bottom and you’re fishing!!! The majority of These fish are hugging the bottom so staying close is KEY. This produced my personal best Coho weighing around 9 pounds and 26 inches. The bite has been from 7am-11am, fish in between those times and your gonna catch some!
