I started with the coinmaster series thrity years ago. Great for it time. Move to the 6000 DI SERIES. WORKED GREAT until minelabs started to move in to it territory. I think most of detecting machines are the same but some are really speialize now. Getting a mid priced multi-use machine for water and land is ideal. Use a land only detector as your backup while your other detector is getting repaired.
I took it back to my local dealer, we disconnected the coil, and re-connected, and so far it is not doing what it had been doing. I'll try in some different areas of my yard, and Keep my fingers crossed. If it acts up at all, I'll see about a replacement, and I'll post back to you. Thank you very much.
The GT has auto ground tracking and pretty much the trac lock button will lock the tracking to the certain ground conditions and not continue to auto ground balance the machine. Hope this helped answer your question. Let me know if you need any more help. Thanks for watching!
Good review, nice machine. The metal detector has come so far in the past 20 years, i can't wait for the new ones to come out that tell you what year the coin is before you dig it, who dropped it and what they were doing when they dropped it. It'll have a relic mode to tell you the name of the metal smith who forged it, his wifes name and dress size and where his great grand kids facebook page then automatically sends them a message to say you found it. LOL, SWING BEEP DIG.
looks like an excellent unit, having used the cm series and prisim series before , im happy that a cheaper range machine with that many functions has come out. Although i have ctx, and ace250 i may look into selling the ace and buying one of these for my backup machine, or for playgrounds and easy areas thanks again! good luck happy hunting
i dont know if you got any answers but from what ive been told that the coil can get wet but as far as going 2-3 feet deep i dont know. the GT does have a beach mode for salt water beaches
I just picked up the White's Coinmaster GT model,and after assembly, when I use it outside,goes through most all of the categories in Rapid fashion, and Does not Settle down. It keeps cycling through those sections, and does not Stop. Bad Coil? or incorrect assembly?? I may also check w/dealer locally where I bought it. I called White's and they were Of no Help......THank you in advance

Hi, could you tell me if the GT is submersible? I just received one (a major upgrade from my previous) and I really would like to hunt in the salt water in about 2-3 feet of water. I understand I can't get the box itself wet, but do you know if the whites GT is functional and do I run the risk of ruining it by getting the bottom wet?
STill No Joy... WHen I press the "P/P All metal" button, it seems to help, but still reading alot of other junk. Any suggestions? I'd like to think I can get assistance in my area, so I can walk through the correct use, and to see if anything is wrong with the unit....... Jim S
