The vase the girl was playing is a clay pot called a Gharaa, it's played in punjabi folk music so are the other instruments she was using, Tumba, etc.

Hey Jim, loved your take on this song. It’s indeed a peppy and upbeat song. You may have noticed the drummer. Well, he’s the drummer from the band Karakoram (Ye Dunya fame). The thing I love about this season is that Xulfi (the producer) has used most of his awesomely talented musicians that he has known from Nescafé Basement days in Coke Studio this year. He has also used many of them (even though they are part of different bands) with almost all the songs. These guys are not afraid of showing up just for their bands; they love contributing to music in general and there is this mutual harmony and friendship bond that exists among them all. This is why the band mates from Karakoram band are not afraid of being used for their drumming or guitar skills in other artists’ songs. That’s the power of them and indeed a power of Xulfi for gathering them all in one big group. It’s amazing! 👏 The first guy whose voice u liked is from Soch the band. His name is Adnan Dhool. He is not only a great vocalist but he’s a damn good writer and musician as well. He has sung one of the biggest viral songs from Nescafé Basement - produced by Xulfi of course. I would love it if you can someday check out Nescafé Basement songs too. I can jot down a list for you to check them out. That song I’m referring to is called “Bol Hu.” You will be in for a surprise in that one and you will see 4 of the Karakoram band mates in that song too. Notably Bilawal the drummer, Zain and Zomato (guitars) and of course the vocalist Sherry Khattak (but in that song he’s playing the electric guitar and contributing for the back vocals). Anyhow, can’t wait for u to check out Mehram. And of course, the first song of the season, Tu Jhoom! Cheers.

Since you liked the voice of the singer from Soch the band, you could listen to another fantastic song on the Nescafe Basement (another Pakistani music show). That song is called Bol Hu, and features another very unexpected singer.

In old days that vase made of mud (that is used to keep water cold) was the instrument that ladies will play in weddings to create a beat. Very traditional ancient instrument. If you have ring in your fingers it can create different voices depending on the metal density of ring.

You'll enjoy reacting to Nescafe basement, raw talent. As previously mentioned many musicians moved on to coke studio.

This and pasoori are great examples that punjabi can be really up beat and partying and also a bit more calm but still vibey but punjabi can also be very sweet if you ever hear older and/or more classic traditional punjabi songs
