I followed the pattern as the designer has written. I don't like to change the pattern when filming because I know people use these tutorials to follow along with as the pattern is written, when making their bags. Due to this being a drawstring style bag, you will see the lining peeking out no matter what, unless you use the same fabric for the lining. However, I do like the contrast of colour peeking out. 😃
So I am at step 8, and my sides are an inch too short :-( I have checked the scale on the pattern piece and it is exactly an inch ??? My main is the correct length. How did this happen? I reprinted the pattern piece. I am printing from adobe and at 100%, the piece for the side is the same size. So now do I just make new sides or cut down my other pieces to match?? I am frustrated as I don't have loads of time and was in the groove...moving along nicely. ((I am not a novice. I usually do know what I am doing this is baffling me....))
Sorry for the delayed reply, we had a family emergency and I've been offline and focusing on my family during this time. You can email the designer Tara, at the email given in the pattern. She will definitely be able to assist you further. 😊
Wow, that's a bummer. I hope you got it worked out. Can you please post here what actually happened so I don't make the same "detour". I'm sure your bag turned out beautifully. Thanks!
@@kschallert3569So I have no idea what caused this. I reprinted the pieces, and it was still "off." I just ended up remaking them. What is odd is that the scale is correct. It was exactly an inch. I have printed patterns since this and prior to and have had no issues so not sure what is the issue. I guess I will start measuring my pieces before sewing on patterns that provide measurements...
Something that comes to mind, when you opened and printed them, did you use a computer or a tablet/phone? Adobe? I know it may sound strange but for some reason when we print from anything other than a computer, they don't print correctly. Also, if you print from the download and don't open in Adobe to print, it will show as your 1" square can be right but the pieces are wrong (this also happens when I've printed from my phone). Technology is fun sometimes, lol.
