Yeah! I caught that too. At age 58, it is now 40 years since I was 18. I look totally different. Thinner hair on my head and thicker around my waistline.
@@SgtSplatter782 High School Red Carpet Walk . And that night she was a shining 🌟 for them all to see (👀) . She used to play Brittany Hodges on the soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful September 17,
In high school, we all worry about what the popular kids think, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. What matters is what kind of person we end up being when we are older. Those who look back at their high school years with regret or want to relive their days of glory in high school are missing out on what life can hand them as an adult. Like the song says in the end the people who you tried to impress will leave you high and dry. But the people who truly care about you will always remember only the good things about you.
I have no regrets about high school except for being less studious than I could have been or any so-called "days of glory." If I remember correctly, I just did what I thought was right.
One of the few episodes that made me tear up. The death scene was, in my opinion, way more emotional than usual, because the girl died still believing that everything was going to be alright, because her friend was by her side.
RoseGstar he did. The closing credits of this ep always get me choked up, because Rainey was remembered by her peers as "the cheerleader that died due to overdose", but It's a complete lie. Joe was the one person in school who ALWAYS saw her for who she was, not what she was, so It's sweet that the closing seconds are of him "seeing" her again, not in her cheerleader uniform, but in regular clothes, as the girl he fell in love with.
@@jeangentry6656 same here. I especially get choked up because Joe was willing to "confess" to a murder he didn't commit just to get people talking about her and remembering her in a completely different light.
I hear you I feel the same way. Some of the episodes are also really dark. Plus with my dad gone and this being one of his favorite shows reminds me of him every day after he died 16 years ago
This shows that 'popularity' may seem important, but there are defiantly more important things and it never lasts. I wouldn't be too surprised if Celeste found herself very unpopular and very alone after high school-she chose popularity over Rainey and ended up costing herself a true friend.
coolchrisable Becca and Celeste are both responsible legally. I think Becca would get a lighter charge, probably Reckless Endangerment or something similar, because she forced the beer down Rainey's throat. However, Becca had no intention of killing anyone that night, and had no idea that Celeste had poured all the liquid X into the beer. Celeste though, KNEW that the beer was spiked to kill and she decided to not call an ambulance. She watched her best friend die and did nothing to save her. Also, while we see Becca being arrested, it's Celeste that is writing her confession to the crime.
I was bullied all through school and it almost destroyed me. Having atleast one nervous brekdown and 2 suicide attempts. They've moved on and had successful lives but i can't let it go. It's a part of me. People have asked me why i havent gone to any of my highschool reunions, and i say why so i can't thank them for permanently scarring me for life. That and i'm worried i'll have another nervous breakdown.
Being bullied will make you feel so bad about who you are, but no matter what anyone else says about you, you have to know that you are an amazing person and that you have worth. I am so sorry that what happened to you made you feel that you had to do that, but you need to remember that someone would have been lost without you. I don't know who you are and I truly believe it. I've had those thoughts before and then I realized that I didn't want any of my family to find me like that. I am sure you don't want that for your family either. No matter how long it takes the pain you feel will lessen until you don't even feel it anymore.
So sorry to hear that. Been in the same position minus the suicide attempts. My breakdowns were more like the slow-onset and slow-acting sort though since it's not entirely in my culture to fully act out in front of people but breakdown it still was, over a long period of time, a slow poison that wrecked my life in different places. So I get this. At some point I became successful enough to "measure up" to the people who did it. Went to the reunion. However because we got to the same place with different experiences & mindsets (and they had clearly never grown out of theirs), there was zero connection. It was underwhelming & certainly no thrill. Never went back to another. So know this: if you should become successful one day you will want to go to those reunions, but you will get no satisfaction from it. I know it's difficult, but work on yourself, and look after yourself instead.
I been invited also to my reunion, why should I. These kids are nothing special. Parents need to build kids self esteem. Where the hell are the teachers back up.
Sorry to hear that. I wish you could have been the hand that signs their paychecks or earned a milit'ry commission so they'd have to salute you. I too experienced bullying in my formative years, but I outlived the worst of them & moved on. Hope you will as well. Live long and prosper. It's the best revenge.
This is one of the episodes that teaches teens and kids a lesson. I just dont understand there are more Beccas and Celestes in the world than Raineys and Joes. Just be yourself. do something that reminds you to not be a follower. Schools would be a lot safer. Plus We would actually be united for once and not going against each other
The best and the most emotional and saddest episode i've ever seen...i want to meet girl like Rainey in real life...the most saddest and emotional part was when Rainey dies at the hands of her best friend but she have the loving and honest smile...and her best friend celeste dont call a ambulance...because she is scared of losing her popularity -_- ...and thats the most sad and emotional part when Joe see Rainey last...and then never...
Whatever happens to your YT account, I just want to thank you for uploading the Cold Case episodes. Cold Case is unlike any other cop show. It really tugs at the heartstrings, especially at the end of each episode when we see the murder victim one last time before he/she fades away.
I love that Joe got to see her last and I love to watching that last seen when he sees her one last time it always gets to me and the song really makes the seen even better. This it my Favorite Cold Case Episode by a MILE
TBH, I felt sorry for the guy who really love the girl which was a victim of a bullying society. This episode does have a fruitful lessons to all children and parents out there, which is actually having the similar scenario here in the Philippines...
It's not explicitly stated in the episode but I hope that best friend got arrested too...along with the other two cheerleaders...because what Celeste did is far worse than what Becca did
Radiohead-High and dry.I just love this song so much.It really fits at ending like this.I remember this episode as my favorite because it was the first episode of Cold Case that I actually watched.I was watching it this week and I didn't cry,but I cried the first time.Badly;(
he felt like he killed her becasue if he didn't convince her to quit the team, she would have still been alive. He was the "unbalanced force" or whatever he said
This is the first episode that i have watched, I find it hard to forget, scrpit was amazingly beautiful and tells a reflection of a form of society stereotyping upon our lives...
And also in hindsight, Evans being now a mature teacher, and Casey is an adult, they might have said Becca is most likely culprit since she was the Queen Bee and was jealous of Rainey
@@popkultureguru1596 she knew the drink was spiked with enough drugs to kill, since she spiked it herself with the intention of committing suicide. She also didn't call an ambulance. I'd say It's confession to her role in Rainey's death.
Jean Gentry yeah but they only arrested Celeste on camera, so i think it’s safe to assume Rainey wasnt in trouble. I truley think she was just writing what happened down. Cause i dont think it a crime to not call the an ambulance for somebody. Morally and ethically Rainey will have to live with allowing her friend to day, but i dont think the law can hold her accoutble for wht Celeste and her friends did.
I never taught that Becca in 2007 is an attorney in real-life, and the Dorky Kid (who voices Chloe Park in We Bare Bears) was here in this series too coinciding her role in the parethesized series I mentioned too
@@ShaDHP23 That's good, I've never been married, so I'm not going to pretend to understand. All I can say is be patient, study the kjv bible, and eat healthy. Take the small victories and build upon them, it's a new age.
Here's what I think what I happened afterwards Becca was convicted of manslaughter, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but was released in 2022, has since then moved away, and rumored to be living under a different name. Celeste was convicted of murder and givin a life sentence, the judge said to her, "Your only good friend, and you let her die, nothing more to be said". Brought tears to Celeste, after what the judge said, and she was taken away. In 2021 Elizabeth Karlsen went to see Celeste in prison, Celeste cried for what happened to Rainey and was very sorry, Elizabeth forgave Celeste, knowing that's what Rainey would want. Celeste will be up for parole in 2028. Joe works as an artist, and does very well, and happily married with two daughters, and painted of picture of Rainey, and had the school put it up in the hallway, in dedication to her memory. Coach Pruit still works at the school and Casey is now his assistant.
Nope, those were the right folks. One, notice how in the Cold Case world, the adults tend to be the same actor even when a decade has passed. Second, pretty plausible (and appropriate) how that teen jock became a portly, balding adult, just like in the episode "Almost Paradise."
Actually, I was talking about the five cheerleaders who got away with everything because the leader's mom is also their school principal. They were expelled and the principal terminated when they messed with their most recent school coach.
I feel so bad for rainy she stood up knowing what was right and died for it just because the that head cheerleader didn't like it when someone finally stood up to her and telling her off who she really is in the so-called best friend just ditched her for some cheerleaders who dropped her after graduation
I did enjoy High SChool, despite being far from popular, sicne I was able to make some friends and was involved in the school's trivia team and school news paper.
@poodtang1 Been there! Done that! What U got to do is not internalize what those dicks did & said to U. At some point, you've got to let it go. I know it's easier said than done. I still backslide. Bullies tend to be miserable people who don't like themselves very much. Happy people don't tear others down to build themselves up. Don't let all the mean things they did to you define or sidetrack U. Learn to like & accept yourself. Next reunion, confront them & tell them what they did. Stay strong.
@silverkarate the bullies are mostly good and happy people now too, they just have grown up out of the bullying. It's just a difficult phase, puberty, it's not like the 'bad guys' in high school are actually bad people who deserve a miserable life. Nor are the nerds in high school boring people in adult life
@kawbaby ha i was watching it too , but came here cause i missed the last 20 mins, don't quite know exactly what happened after she was going to go quit the squad
I'm almost positive that my love for this show was the reason why I enjoyed Life Is Strange so much. The endings of the episodes have many similarities.
This episode just shows you that popularity leads to nothing. It’s about being smart and yourself. Look at Becca her life in the future is a complete waste having no job and two failed marriages soon to be three. Becca was a complete conniving and popularity obsessed woman who is only out to use others to get what she wanted glory, popularity, power and fame. But in the death scene and even into her adult years she completely reveals her true nature, she is ruthless, mean, vengeful, cruel, evil, diabolical, selfish, unreasonable, obsessive, uncaring, narcissistic, egomaniacal, megalomaniacal, violent, murderous, glory obsessed, heartless, despicable, uncaring, horrible, wrathful, hateful, argumentative, snotty, pompous, power hungry, controlling, sadistic, calculating, callous, ignorant, remorseless, unsympathetic and will stop at nothing to remove those who stand in her way of popularity and glory even to illegal ways and she has to murder them like she did to Rainy.
