You're not burning up the clutch, you need high rpms. And you need to use the two speed through all the gears. Ford has directions for using the two speed above the sunvisor.
Love seeing grain hauling videos. The older grain trucks love them. Very few show the hauling part. Hope harvest goes great for you. Keep them videos coming and stay safe my friend 😎🌞👍
Hello my friend, thanks for the ride along. Make yourself a grain clean out scrapper from a garden hoe by cutting the handle to about 18" as they work very well. That two speed axle is made to split every gear when loaded. Please farm safely.
Dont listen to this guy. He has his own channel and everyone agrees he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s more of a joke than anything else at this point. Your a much better farmer 👍
@@taylorjennings2218 it's funny how u call him a joke meanwhile other farm RU-vidrs r coping him I would prefer to watch Wes then the walk talking ads for more free equipment and if u feel bad that they have not got enuf free stuff u can help them pay for the stuff they have to pay for
if he wasn't already to busy working his own fields, Id think he would be a perfect candidate to work for you for a few weeks on straw jobs or rush bailing jobs.
I agree splitting the rear end every gear and shift the transmission first double shift the clutch and shift the rear end into low and it will go right in
We use a 2 ton gmc7000 for a log truck, trust me you'll never burn the clutch out of your truck I wish you could see the 20 years of abuse this one has taken. Had to pull the trans 10 years ago and 2 years ago the clutch was still good it went right back in
Rural king used to sell I think they were 4 or 6" slide gate doors like the big one on your grain box. We cut holes left and right of the big door on one of our trucks and welded them on it makes clean out super fast for the corners of the bed.
Yep our school buses had a gate valve down by the driver's feet on the floor... PITA to reach it and spin with one finger because it was too close to the floor for your fingers to fit between the handle and the floor, but it worked! OL J R :)
The elevators we used to go to had a special “rake” for pulling the corners out. It was a handle like a broom with a channel (sort of) across the end , it was a piece of cake to sweep them out. Definitely shift that 2 speed, that thing will get up and go much better loaded. They were built to shift, so shift it. As mentioned before, don’t clutch it, you’ll know when it shifts. Also, I would bet money you’ve got a rear tire problem. My semi keeps wearing the left steer tire funny and it shakes like that between about 45 and 52, but the steering wheel shakes. I see yours wasn’t, so most likely a drive tire.
most trucks i had like that had small coal chutes in on each side that worked well enough to clean out back corners and got about a handful out of each is all ... I never was a fan of the 2 spd rears either but i would drive it like OLF mentioned lol . Did drive have a ford louisville that had a 5 spd with a gear vendor over/under and it would fly . and with a 477 V8 and low rear ratio it would never have to down shift loaded .
one year the grain yard really docked us heavy for foreign material and not just us all farmers so after we were done a bunch of us went back in walked inside and asked them which bin do we go to to get OUR foreign material? they told us and then said it would cost us MORE than what they charged us for dockage. we told them NO you all ready made us pay for you taking it out we will NOT pay again. they did not care. they do the same to us for corn. we later found out there was a great big farmer who was going in and getting ALL the screenings for NOTHING!!!
And don’t use the clutch for your two speed. Then you can feel it shift. Drove many many miles in school buses with the Ford 370 and 429 with a 4x2. I vastly preferred the 370 and was willing to split every gear if I needed. I’ve never had to replace anything other than the Borg Warner shift switch on anything other than one of my really old straight trucks. I use the two speed on my straight trucks as much as the gears.
Hi from mid Michigan here see you are from Ohio, guessing down toward Cincinnati by the mud flap. I realize that it's not an uncommon name but your last name was my mother's maidan name. not a farmer here although I do haul grain and sugar beets in the fall Have a good Christmas thanks
@@boehmfarm4276 I know the deal mine gets killed all the time, most times I tell people as long as they say it close enough that I know who they are talking too it's close enough have a good day
Once you get the hang of split shifting, it’ll be more enjoyable to drive loaded. Those old tired trucks are a bear without the ability to split. Unless the electric is different than a vacuum shift, you don’t need to clutch to shift the axle unless you’re splitting gear/axle
I think you might be happier with 2 150 bu gr boxes. I know you could load them with your skid loader"(empty) as I have lifted mine with my bobcat that only lifts 1900. Easier to come by150 bu boxes. I bet old farm junk101 has a few decent ones for sale? Put boards on top and you probably can match or pass the capacity of the dump bed. Fix them up to bolt down to your bed or ???? I just chain and strap mine to my gooseneck trailer.
Are yall allowed 10% over in Ohio like they are in Indiana, coming off the farm? I mean it is what it is after all LOL:) BIL wants the semi loaded right at 88,000 to take advantage of it... easier said than done. OL J R :)
Don't you worry about getting the crops in so late? Not knocking you as we still have a few beans out and a good bit of corn , not too far from you , the day job really throws a wrench in things sometimes.
Biden shut down the pipelines, is actively selling OUR oil reserves to Asia and is begging opec to increase production for us to buy, you cant get more stupid than that.
@@davidsquall351 no the Keystone pipeline is still flowing Canadians oil to the Gulf coast for transport!! Mr.Biden did shut down work of a new pipeline through environmental sensitive lands that loser#45 had no regards for!!!
