This is another tournament video and it took place on February 25th, 2023. It was Foothills Kayak Anglers, NC's first event of the year and it took place on Lake Hickory.
I didn't have a chance to pre-fish for this tournament so I was going in blind other than the research I did from home. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was a large boat tournament launching out of the same ramp I had chosen. I also noticed the stained water and the water temps only being about 51 degrees. That said, it was a very tough day on the water for me and most others. I was able to get a 20th place finish out of 56 anglers though so it wasn't a total waste of time. Decent points day for a lake I had never been to before. Hopefully this will show later in the year when it becomes crunch time for the AOY points.
Looking forward to the next event I can fish with this group.
