for anyone wondering, those flames after the first start? those are a custom accessory for derby cars known as the fuel preheater system! get's faster starts and about 50 extra hp, lol.
yup!!!, with one dead cylinder( 12.5 % power loss). that engine is in the same shape as the car is, complete with rod knock=" JUNK". the transmission is in the same condition!!!!

do yall know why it started ?..cuz it's powered by a small block chevy motor according to mikkie..if it was a 351 it would have vaporlocked..typical ford known issue is vaporlocking in these old fords..i had a ltd and a mustang both with v8s both kept vaporlocking ..sold them and bought a chevy nova ..never had that problem again...dump some 40 weight in it and put another good trans behind it and run it in a different car...run it until it pukes it's guts up...
It’s junk. what are you saving a bunch of scrap. Just pull the engine and sell it or something I’m surprise the thing even drove it all garbage tires and the axles if our you are by chop saw and cut all the sheet metal off of there. Cut the old motor mounts and pull the engine and transmission and scrap the rest. There’s nothing to save besides the engine and transmission.
It would be a awesome project if you got this car road worthy but left it looking g like trash lol. Ide daily drive that xD can you please fix its major components but leave the body a disaster.

it does not matter, if you are doing this in a residential area, you can get busted for disturbing the peace. I did it too, but when the sun went down , I respected the neighbors!!!!.
@@gregoryclemen1870 the neighbors moved I bought the houses on either side of me and tore them down and put up a pole barn I’ve gotten to old to do the derby thing I’m getting close to 70 and now the pole barn is just for get togethers
@@marcnissen578 , that is one way to do it, I was not so lucky, I got a notice from the township that I live in. I was notified that all cars/ trucks that were not registered "HAD TO GO"( I had 30 days to do it) I guess someone complained, even though they were hidden from roadside view

Most of the damage you see bent up is mwnt to bend like that so the car still runs and drives longer for a heat race and to make it through the feature demo derby for the grand prize
Ya know there is a much easier way to get them off when they are like that. Its called typing the car to a tree and driving the trailer out from under it :)
