Learn something new everyday. I’m watching this in Lebanon, Oregon and never knew that there was a manufacturer of sawmills locally. Enjoy watching your family and how well everyone works together.
Yeah!!! Isn't it fun to learn something new every day!? My kids are teaching me things all the time. It's such a present. Yep and the owner of Linn Lumber is awesome!!!
Oh you are so right...every board has its own look to it. Milling is very time consuming but it will be worth it. After the boards we will need to run them through the router, stain then put up finally...yeah! Thanks for watching! 😊
I want to move to Alaska, but my wife said I would be going by myself because she said she would never live in a 39:08 place that got that cold anymore, we lived in Wyoming for 6 years when I worked for the railroad, but we moved back home to Alabama, so I guess the best that I can do is watch your channel, stay warm
Well I understand...we even get pretty sick of it. Gets harder as you get older... but this state just draws you in and we just fell in love with it!! Arizona sounds amazing come January. About half the state boogies in the winter Thanks for watching!!😊 Snow on Monday for us here
Your kids are such a huge help to you and kind too. Thank god for tarp sheds, but just a pain maintaining them. I kept one going for about 10 years on my property. Do you have an indoor bathroom as well? Then just have the outhouse as a back up?
Thank you!! Our kids are awesome. We do not have any inside plumbing for a toilet. We use a 5 gal sawdust composting toilet. It works great! Then outhouse for the morning visits
I love mine. I feel like I can walk anywhere in those... which is great because life doesn't stop just because the weather gets cold! So it allows for things to keep going and chores outside do not stop because of an injury It happens all the time in winter here, broken ribs, hurt backs, lots of slips in the winter in this state
Oh yes, mother nature has her own time clock for sure!! We have been working on stacking up more firewood today and milling more boards... Monday snow in forecast Thanks for watching!😊
All men have it. Selective hearing, selective sight, selective memory…… you know where I’m heading!😂😂😂 Once again, a very enjoyable video! I’m settling back to watch your shopping video next. Happiness to you all! 💜💜💜
Oh I completely understand!!! The "selective" behavior seems to get worse every year! Oh well, I feel like my hearing is bad every now and then too...! Lol Thanks for watching 😊
@@Alaskan6pack I haven’t put your video on my Facebook page yet put I will I have to put Hudson’s video up to have an amazing weekend love your videos ( on my RU-vid page I have holly and juniper from flat tire farm
I wish your kids had ice skates so they could go ice-skating. Do they do that when it freezes do they have a pair of old ice skates they play hockey too.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@Alaskan6pack you could always go to the gym cause those cheap gym that’s like $10 a month or something like that the cheap ones just have to be expensive
Yes. That's a great idea. We do have an outside shower here but it's getting too cold. We just plumbed in a washer and my inside kitchen sink. We did our first load of laundry in the cabin. So no more laundromat, yeah! The next item is to tie in a corner shower to that! Excited to be making progress
@@Alaskan6pack I told you to exercise because you work hard do you know and you wanna be able to do all the things you have to do sometimes you could go to the gym like the Ymca and you tell them your situation they let you take a bath for free
Mexican baths, laundromat, and we have a friend that lets us shower there. Soon we will have our own shower in the cabin. We already are purchasing some of the supplies needed
Great idea. Jeff is starting to pack sawdust around the edges. What will happen is with moisture and freezing temps it will seal in the edges... He was also thinking about putting a small wood stove in there too as the temps go in to the negatives
I saw this a coming! lololo When you all put it up i said, "there ain't no way that is gonna last in Alaska". Sorry for y'all trouble, but pls be more realistic and build more solid structures
Yep, Alaska kicked our tails there! Oh well. Building a solid structure takes time we just don't have right now. So, unfortunately we had to go the cheap and fast route... we will see how long this next one lasts. Always challenges here when time and money are not plentiful! Lol
They have winter hats. They are more "hot blooded" than I am?! Lol Harley doesn't really like wearing hats much. Hudson almost never wears one. Brady and Jeff like their hats from Costco. Lily likes her hats too. I guess everyone is different in their tastes and needs... but good question!
them things are junk i had to ov them the first one like you guys did not pin it down the second one i yoused big steel fence post and the wind still broke it in half thier a waist ov money better off bulding a 2by4 frame and puting plastic and straping on them
You are probably right. They used to make the elbows with metal, now it's plastic. Horrible strength now on the elbow parts. The wind won for sure. We are at least still milling away right now for our inside siding. That's nice. Thanks for watching 😊
