I'm guessing this is Feb 17-18, 2024. This was the long weekend of our lifestyle visit. We had two sunny days and two rainy weekend days. Still loved our short time in The Villages and can see this in our retirement future. Stayed in the Harper Villas and hope to visit again in 2025.
Hello! I have a question I forgot to ask when you bought your home........Can you negotiate the price on a new build like yours? I've heard conflicting stories. I'd prefer to buy a new build since I can't find anything I like in my price range. Keep up the great work, Love your videos and HOPE my husband and I can come down soon and do a lifestyle visit!
Thanks! We don’t have enough experience on that yet. Will share more as we learn more. Good luck with your search! Hopefully you can make it down for a lifestyle visit soon.
No. We are from the Southeast. Work travel for her career. Will share more in future videos about working from home and travel while living in The Villages Village full time. Thanks!
We moved to the Villages from Naples, FL and alot of people warned us about the cold rainy weather here at The Villages and it definitely is much less sunshine here and cooler weather!
Since we are now full-time Floridians we actually prefer central Florida and the cooler (but not freezing cold) weather for a couple of months. Plus we don’t have to worry about hurricanes as much as the rest of Florida. Thanks!
Another great video!!! What to do on a rainy day. Would it be possible to go over what it takes to become a Florida resident? With changing your license and registration, plus homestead. Thanks again for all you guys are doing for us.
Meant to say most don’t open on Sundays before Noon. I drove through before 10 that morning. Most stores are open 10AM to 9PM Monday - Saturday but only Noon to 5PM on Sundays.
I love your videos actually showing everyone the footage of the villages I was tired of other peoples channels that they just sit in front of the camera and talk and we don’t get to see what the towns look Like keep it up thanks
We are coming to visit in 2 weeks. I was wondering if you had an issues installing your Tesla charger in your garage? Is the enough room and power in the breaker box? We love our Tesla and look forward to our visit. Than you for the excellent content.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying our videos. We love our Tesla too! So much fun to drive (or autopilot) around TV and long road trips. We drove from FL to The Grand Canyon and back last year and let autopilot do 90% of the driving with only 1 phantom breaking episode. I have actually not installed a Tesla charger yet. I have found that I can drive all over The Villages from one end to the other (and even to Disney World and back) and then just plug 🔌 in (regular wall adapter) every time I get home and it’s back to 70% to 80% by the next morning. I never charge past 80% unless I am going on a long road trip. Hope you have a great experience on your upcoming visit! Keep us posted!
Hi Michael & Tiffany :) We are heading to The Villages for our first lifestyle visit in May and I just wanted to give you a shout out on how much we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE - your videos that feature the neighborhoods, squares and rec centers and so so much more. Literally, when you're driving, we get our our Villages map(s) and can pinpoint exactly where you are and what's near by so THANK YOU. We have no idea what neighborhood or village area we are interested in as of yet so your videos ROCK!!! Thank you so very much. Forever fans & viewers - Matt & Amy from WI
Hi Matt & Amy! Thank you so much for the kind and Awesome comments! So glad you are enjoying our videos and are finding them helpful. It’s great you can tag along with us virtually and get out your maps as we share our experiences. May is a great time to visit Florida and The Villages. It’s warmer (but not too hot or humid yet) and a lot less crowded than peak snowbird season. Hopefully we will see you on your visit. Please keep us posted and say hello if you see us out and about! Thanks again! Michael & Tiffany
Groome does pick up in Spanish Springs. There's a really cute bus station that looks like a train station with an old train caboose sitting there. It's right next to the Edward Jones office. The bus schedule is even posted in a glass case.
Thank you for these amazing videos. I have a question for you guys. My husband and I were in The Villages for a little over a month and we noticed they were a little participation from the residence in the rec centers. Also, how do you integrate yourself in the recreations no one seem to have a good answer, I appreciate everything you and your wife are doing and look forward for this information
Great questions! I think a lot depends on if you are an introvert or an extrovert. Tiffany and I have been discussing doing a video on that very topic. Stay tuned and we will try and get that done in the next few weeks. Thanks!
Nope not retired yet. Will have an update on our Motorhome and RV lot in the next couple of weeks. We have some fun road trips planned for this spring and summer but probably not in the RV. Thanks!
Hi, Michael! We thoroughly enjoy all your videos and have been watching your and Tiffany’s experience from the start! We would have liked a look or two inside all the places you passed in the rain just to see the vibe that was happening when people can’t be outside. Maybe the rec centers, at least, if the restaurants don’t want you filming in there. Would be fun to watch some of the indoor activities for a change as everyone always focuses on the outdoors (with good reason). Anyway, just a thought. We look forward to watching your next video!
Hey Michael and Tiffany. Luv your videos. Look forward to seeing you at Chuch @ The Springs at Ezell tomorrow! If so we will be greeting people at the front door at the 9:00 service so would love to meet you. Great church and very welcoming to all! Gordy and Deb
Hi Gordy and Deb! Thanks so much! Glad you are enjoying our videos. Thanks for the invite to the Church @ The Springs at Ezell. We could not make it today but definitely plan on visiting in the next couple of weeks. Do y’all greet every Sunday at the 9:00 service or do you rotate? Please say hello if you see us there or out and about at TV!
Another great video. Can't wait for the Spanish Springs 5k. I may even try the church at Ezell rec center that weekend. Do you know if there is a shuttle to and from the Sanford Airport in Orland?
Also Michael I heard there are horse ranches there and horse properties, if you get a chance I would love to see a drive-by of a couple areas (I heard it was just beautiful) in that area it would be a nice drive and tour ! Thank You for your awsome videos and time ! 🐎💜🤗
Definitely try the church that is meeting at Ezell. I love it! Very welcoming and upbeat. Great sermon series about Friendship when I was there last. I can’t wait to get involved in a small group when I’m here full time next year.
You definitely appeared surprised when you you saw all the cars at the square; the rain didn't keep the Villagers from coming out and standing in that long line at the restaurant- they must have great food! Love your videos.
Thanks Michael. Good info. Is that to all airports or just to Orlando. Safe week Tiffany and hope Michael has house all tidy when you arrive back home 😉
Keep up the awsome videos Michael and Tiffany ! Just love you guys ! We live in Mass and we love where we live but hope to visit there soon 🙏 🌴 you guys are such nice people and enjoy your experiences there ! 🤗💜
Excellent video. Damned if we did not miss you while we were in Brownwood when you were there! Oh my…. Sorry you did not have a raincoat as with a raincoat, the rain actually felt kinda good. Please keep up with these great vids and insights into the Villages. Thank-you and Tiffany.
Thanks! Sorry we missed each other. I enjoyed the rain but not the cold once I got wet. Need to keep a raincoat in the car for next time. Glad to see the sunshine ☀️ today! Please say hello if you see us out and about!
I have lived in Florida since 1986. November through March can bring cold weather. This year is no worse than others. Bad weather occurs when a cold front forms in the arctic then passes over the entire USA. In Florida, a front delivers cold weather and when it passes the weather quickly returns to 70 or more degrees. Southern Florida (Miami and Keys) escapes most fronts. They have year round sunshine. The Villages suffers through most cold fronts. Some years, it get so cold that you need a jacket, hat, and gloves for a few days.
We probably just missed Tiffany. We finished up our lifestyle visit on Sunday morning but we took the 6:20 am flight out back to Michigan. We actually love the village and trying to make it work where we can be down there. Love your videos.
Wow! 6:20 am flight! Did you take the shuttle or drive yourself to the airport? Hope you had a great lifestyle visit! Good luck with your move to TV! Keep us posted. Thanks!
Thanks, We actually drove ourselves. We left at 2:30 and arrived at the airport about 3:45. I was really surprised how busy the airport was that early in the morning.
Great tour on a sleepy, chilly, rainy weekend in The Villages. I'm surprised that so many people were willing to brave the inclement weather and make it to Brownwood for brunch. We took the shuttle tour when we visited one day about a year ago and there were residents on that bus for sure. It wasn't just visitors taking that tour. Enjoy your week of having the house all to yourself and get lots done 😀.
I absolutely love the rain 🌧️ Really appreciated you stepping out for a mini tour of the squares braving that cold weather 😂 Looking forward to moving down there. I do hear that more activities and classes are being offered during the evenings for those that work full time. Those classes are mostly run by volunteers! So cheers to The Villages such a beautiful place to play and work! Looking forward to meeting you both later this summer!❤
