"Lord, Didn't It Rain"
Dick Player makes an escape but suffers dreadfully because of ongoing bad weather and rain and at one point is given a lift by an SS officer. He becomes sick, runs out of money, and eventually tries to get help from the American consulate who turns him down. This in reality was the circumstances of an escape by Anthony Murray 'Peter' Allan.

At the 48th Minute and 20thSecond there was a scene that made me cry and really felt the British World War 2 heroes sacrificed a lot. It made me cry when even An American Diplomat could not help a British Airman in Vienna Austria, Pre-December 1941

Why isnt this more popular? I'm pretty knowledgeable about classic ww2 movies and series and I have. Ever even heard of this movie before I just stumbled upon this at random. Does anyone else have any recommendations for more lessar known movies and series

I know he's the enemy... but I really, really love Ulmann. Somehow despite being a hardcase, the guy is likable. I have no idea why.

Colditz is a British television series co-produced by the BBC and Universal Studios and screened between 1972 and 1974.

Can't any of you read? He meant the *chubby* officer that *picked him up* when he was standing outside in the rain. The officer even said that if his own driver wasn't on leave, his driver wouldn't have bothered to stop.

The British and New Zealanders turned away our American Citizens from their Embassies during the iran hostage crisis. That said, I wish we had helped that British Officer.

It's based on the experiences of Colditz POWs and in some places it's realistic. Dick Player's escape is based on Peter Allen's. Also Maj Pat Reid MBE MC was technical advisor on the show, and he'd written about his experiences in two best-selling books.

He wouldn't beg like that..He would be picked up within minutes....Great series but this was very badly acting...Annoying it ruined the whole series for me now
