it’s so interesting hearing pieces of lyrics in the official version in completely different places and how the melody has changed and evolved. it’s like this song is from an alternate universe or something. so cool!
@@stephenlow1841 they got spook'd, did they? well shazam, they got it-right-the-first-time, there was no need for subvertin' it and twistin' it all-outta-whack-like-that, i just thank frack that this recording survives, if it has and does... as long as mandela approves, we get to enjoy these grooves~~~ good job, fellas, only perhaps 'speed of sound' could possibly compete with this piece, but what else have ya got, how about, less piano, more guitahs, boys~~ haha~~~
@@omardelmar ha ha~ i cawn't say enough about this and perhaps a few other songs by these boys: i know nuthin' about 'em, are they fairly good sports, are they fairly well-behaved? it hardly matters to me, it just might be interesting.. any good interviews, where the lyricist might explain what he's sayin'? the songs speak loudly and clearly enough, of course, but i always like to see what else we can get from the horses' mouths, so-to-speak, ha ha~
+Chris Online +Marius Trost They actually have a B-Side/Rarity album... it's entitled "A Rush Of B-Sides To The Head" B Single's & songs that were scrapped from their first 2 LP's. Check it out!
I remember I was like 14 years old and I downloaded this version and I always thought it was the original one.. years passed by and I found out it wasn't. Still love both of them.
This seems to be my history. When I listen to this song, everytime i do it, I immediately go back in time, in that lovely and forgotten room, when everything seemed to never change, as if the world would be that way forever. And now, when I'm in that state of mind, i got shivers. Many things changed until now, but not that feeling listening to those coldplay's songs.
Thank you! I’ve looking for this version on Spotify and couldn’t find it! I think this version is way too better than the one they included in the album! It’s a shame they left this like a hidden gem that only old fans like me know. Thanks again! ♥️ I hope Coldplay one day goes back to this kind of music 😍 the best era of Coldplay = the first 3 albums
i've always heard the album version of Talk, and this is the first time i've heard the original version. It's pretty magical because the lyrics in both songs are so similar but this one seems more meaningful.
That's because this version fit with the Rush of Blood album which is more organic feeling. X&Y was very sterile, to me. Like they were trying to do all songs by the book.
As a guitarist I've always been drawn to the guitar melodies Jonny Buckland creates for Coldplay. Distinctive vibrations. Obviously heavily influenced by U2's the Edge.
Absolutely true. Deep down it was probably how each of their stuff melted together that made the magic for me - Jonny's atmospherics and the rhythm with the melodies was really special. They've sadly been too sidelined now and I really hate it.
I've been listening to XY for a long long time now, listening to this feels exactly like the first time I listened to every single song of that marvelous album;; goosebumps, your body shivers and you feel like everything is going to be alright eventually!
@@MegaFCKforever actually i think the final version is better, because for this version the lyrics seems a little bit ... lost and unclear, and i think they have really done a great improvement on the lyrics (sr for my bad english).
"I'm trying to send a sign in a language I don't speak" Chris had to write to Kraftwerk in German to get rights for the riff since it's the same one heard in Computer Love
this i think this evolved into Square One cause the backing guitar sounds a lot like the one in Square One and the main riff is reallly similar and the drums are the same
I personally think that the chorus is better-written in the album version. I do like, however, that they brought the chorus from this version and turned it into the bridge of the album version. But the drum beat and the bridge's instrumentation, I think, are a little better in this version.
i think this version is perfection! and they should never have messed wit' it, but then again, they're entitled, to take these liberties, and sometimes a song can be improved, or expanded, the fixx seem to be so good at that, their stuff seems impossible to improve or to degrade, it's like they occupy some state-of-grace, or a channel that they own , but this recording, in my opinion is the best! it carries some kind of magic and it's free energy, perpetual motion, perfectly frozen for instant gratification and endless discussion and exploration! it's frickin' extraaawdin'ry, apart from all the others! just give it another year, and we'll hear yet more of it here, was it always? it seems to grow, like all the great tracks, but supposedly the song remains the same, well, perhaps!
I haven't heard this song in ages, I actually forgot about it. It's funny because I used to listen to this song all the time back when I was insanely and emotionally depressed. I told myself I'd never feel that way again, and yet here I am. Once again
Geez my man that sucks =. ( . I haven't heard this song since high school. I was once like that during my junior year of high school, especially during the summer of 2009 right before junior year started. Lot of drama at home caused me to have these bottled up feelings that I didn't know how to deal with or who to tell. But think of this song as a message: have someone to talk to even during hard times like these. Godspeed bro
Back in the day, I downloaded this from Limewire and thought it was the final version for YEARS. It wasn't until I got into legitimately acquiring my music that I realized what happened. In my heart, this will always be Talk.
After listening to this album for 9 years, I've finally discovered this... and dang, it's awesome. I wish this was the album version. It's shorter, yet there's more to it. Thanks for posting!
on the other hand, we're all frack'd now, and i blame alex jones, for being more than a little too kind, to trump, who couldn't be-bothered-to take serious warnings, and made an ass of all the trump-haters, asses of all the trump supporters, and maybe he's a little bummed about how it all went down, but he shoulda written-and-released one hell-of-a-tell-all-book by now!
all the tracks, just weave in-and-around this great example of how a mere pile , or stack of tracks, is way more-than-the-sum of its parts: there's a synergy, big-league..this thing is endlessly listenable, unlike practic'ly any other song: that's fairly remarkable!
I feel both versions are a conversation to one another! Like this one seems like the "brother" that the other narrator is trying to talk to in the album version of this song, yet he can't reach him.
Under the great North star Try to work out where you are In the silence of the sea I don't know where I'll be In the future, in the past Going nowhere... much too fast When I go there, go with me When I go there, go with me Cause I don't know where I'm going and I wanna talk I feel like I'm going where I've been before And I wanna talk Take a picture of Something that you're not sure of Bring it back to show to me But I don't know what I see In the future, find a home Getting nowhere on your own Got to find your missing piece Cause you don't know were you're going and you wanna talk You feel like you're going where you've been before Nothing's really making any sense at all You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored Let's talk Let's talk Do you wanna talk I'm up in the part of the throne I'm trying to sing a song In a language I don't speak I tried but I can't get through I'm trying to get to you But you're difficult to reach Won't you talk to me So you don't know were you're going and you wanna talk You feel like you're going where you've been before Let's talk Let's talk
Tenía 14 años cuando ambas versiones de "TALK" se convirtieron en mis canciones favoritas. Dedicada a mi Papá que se fue lejos cuando yo era un niño. Siempre desee hablar con el :'(

omg im 14 and i think music now is garbage and if you disagree you are an idiot!,!,!!!!!,1! for some reason i am retarded enough to think that there is absolutely nothing good nowadays!!!!!!!!!!
Omg, love both this and the official album version. Totally agree with other people that they should release a "first drafts" album. So much of their original versions are seriously good, in addition to how they changed and finally released them which are also completely fabulous to.
@@nathantbc1486 the band didnt like how speed of sound was recorded and dont like playing it live anymore. X and y was a pretty tough period for the band I guess
this, in fact is the real version ; any inversion, or so-called improvement, only proves they may as well start an entirely new track, or just stay on this one and trust where it's goin'!
Same for me. I used to hear this many times back in 2007 when I was 8 and 9 years old and this was always the version that was my nostalgia. Never until just now (on 2/1/2022) have I ever listened to the final album version in its entirety.
There’s something beautifully ethereal about this version that just takes it a little step further on those verses. “Going no where much too fast” ooh what a line
Ive ALWAYS known this version. It used to be on my 'mp3' player. The only Coldplay song i had on it. But i have to Say the one off the X&Y is probably my favorite.
¡Hola!
Unfortunately this version leaked online before they even release “Speed Of Sound” so they changed it to have an exclusive version on the cd - This version will forever be one of my favorites Coldplays songs ever!
I believe this song could be evenmore beautiful. This version is too soft and i believe they tried to change the vibe with an easy solo that got rock elements at normal version. but even at the normal version you can feel the song is not completely done. and this version is lyrically so bad at least they showed a great improvement on the album version.
WHY AM I JUST NOW HEARING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME!? OMG. They are literally on their own level when it comes to music... New and Old, everything they produce is magical... WOW...
Listening to Coldplay on shuffle whilst doing something else, then Talk comes up ... then Chris starts singing something different and it feels like a new song. Love these finds.
i heard, the chinese communists wanted them to change this, and make it sound gay: mission accomplished!! this version is perfection, the album version, gay!
Whoa, I remember listening to this version first before the other one back in 2006 when I was 16 years old. and wow I am so thankful to listen to this one again, and be reminded of it. My favorite CP song-have listened to them since I was 11 in 2001.
what a disappointment it must've been, or would for me, being familiar first with this perfect version, only to then hear how it had gotten all twisted-'round-funny, or somethin' for the sake of some hot-shot producer or who-knows-what? .... and the coolest drum track, completely wiped out and abandoned...? appalled, i would've been, brandon!
