There is a version of The Astronaut where Chris did a great intro , also giving a background of My Universe and then months later, the collab with Jin came. You should watch also the live version, where Jin flew 30 hrs from Korea to Buenos Aires to debut the song, before he enlisted in the Korean Army.

the respect BTS gives to ColdPlay and vice versa is amazing. BTS even put ColdPlay's credits on top, above RM's name at the end, and ColdPlay defended BTS against nasty talk shows

All I will say is - there is a reason Jungkook is the main vocalist of BTS. He is the backbone of all bts songs. He does so much - guides, adlibs (both recording and on stage), backup vocals not only on his parts but other members parts too.

Cold Play and BTS are good friends now since this collaboration. This WAS during the pandemic and that's why Chris said it was a difficult journey to get to South Korea (re: quarantine, etc.). They DID get to perform this together at the American Music Awards in Nov 2021 and also Cold Play (well, Chris Martin) made an appearance at the end of one of BTS' concerts at SOFI stadium in LA same timeframe and they performed together there too. Jin did the song The Astronaut with Cold Play as his last song before enlistment. There is an MV for that as well as a Behind the Scenes for Jin's trip to Argentina to perform that one song Live on stage with Cold Play at their concert. You should watch that too, as well as the clip of Chris Martin's speech right before Jin came on to perform. Bring tissues though if you are an emotional type like me. There is also footage somewhere of Chris having dinner with the guys, I think around the time BTS went to the White House in 2022, but don't hold me to that.

I’ll have you know this, Coldplay just came to play in Malaysia two days ago, and they played this song. and we Malaysian ARMY that was there, sang our hearts out to this song, with our ARMY bomb up in the air. we missed BTS.
