Jimin, since he was a little boy, had 8 yrs training in various (4), forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & some Chinese martial arts! He even uses his abilities, his amazing inner core strength as well as his phenomenal flexibility applying it to his many times, gravity defying dance moves as well! JIMIN has background at young age of 10, first studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, then started studying & performing contemporary dance, learned some ballet, even traditional Korean dance! Updated Jimin info that some aren't aware of: ❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin studied 3 types of marshal arts in his youth and has a black belt. He also studied street dancing and modern contemporary dancing before joining BTS. He excelled in school, especially in math and was very popular. None of the members were slackers ever. So really it is no surprise how hard they worked as a team; learned from each other and supported each other. Do you know that all BTS members earned their BA as members and all but JK have earned a masters degree as well.
