Hi there! Hmm does your dark room look exactly like mine? The fabric should be completely dark, so like pitch black, and not like translucent black like mine.
We LOVED our Evanston 6p Tent just like the one in this video! We did seal the bottom seam, but we never got wet in our tent (we do live in a very wet area and we tend to over-tarp as well). This is a great review! For the money the Evanston tent is pretty great! It is an older design than the Carlsbad (thus the lack of an E-port) but for the money it is darn good!!!
@covenant11 Thank you so much for sharing Michael! Sealing the seams and over tarping is definitely a great idea for camping in a wet area hahaha. Oh!! And I never knew that the Evanston is an older design than the Carlsbad, that's interesting! But surprisingly they didn't update the designs to include the e-port. But still for the money, it's great! 😊
@@CampingGuidance We spent four very rainy days at Cape Disappointment a couple of years ago. It's really lovely there! During that four days it didn't stop raining. There was a stream of running water under our Evanston 6p tent. Not a single item of ours got wet! We've had out Evanston for about six years, and it wasn't a new design when we got it, though it was more expensive than it is now by a fair bit. Your reviews are awesome!! You rock!
@@covenant11 Aww thank you so much Michael! You're always so kind and I really appreciate your support always!! 😊😊 Oh wow I never knew there was a place called Cape Disappointment haha that's good to know though! And I'm really glad that your tent didn't get wet at all! Though it's strange that it used to be more expensive than it is now haha 🤔
Hello i currently just purchased a coleman sun dome 4 person for my camping trip in 1 week, but am debating returning it for the 4 person carlsbad as i like that it has the screened porch, ik the porch on the carlbad gwts wet in rain but what about the sleeping area how does that hold up in rain, its suppose to rain out entire camping trip
Hi Morgan! Thanks for the question 😊 Hmm I would say that the Carlsbad is just like the Sundome that you bought, but with the dark room tech and the screen room! So the inner tent sleeping area will hold up the same way as the Sundome. I did a rain test on all the Coleman tents so you can check that out on the channel, but the gist is that I would recommend sealing the seams at the very least. Coleman uses "inverted" seams which don't hold out heavy rain at all. And you might also wanna use waterproofing spray, or even set up an extra tarp over the tent, since it sounds like it's gonna rain pretty heavily over there :( Hope this helps! 😊
@CampingGuidance Thanks so much!!, how would you recommend I seal the seams?, also does the carlsbad 4 person have less standing height than the sundome 4 person?
@@morgan7698 Hey Morgan! I learned how to seal seams from REI, here's a great resource that you can check out: www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/how-to-waterproof-a-tent.html I think the peak height for both tents are about the same. I generally prefer 6P tents if you have the space, because I couldn't stand in any of my Coleman 4P tents, including the Carlsbad! I hope this helps! 😊
Hola buenas consulta!! Soy de argentina y me interesa comprar el modelo evanston 6p es para acampar en camping nada complicado , vale la pena comprar? O tienen algún modelo en ese precio que resulte mejor? La verdad me cuesta decidir es mi segunda carpa
Hi Néstor, thanks for the question! I liked the Evanston 6P quite a bit, and for the price, I found it to be a great budget pick! Worth the money for sure. I actually featured both these tents in my Best Coleman Tents video, if you want more info and comparisons between all these Coleman tents: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q3-nya2F33c.html You might find that video a little more in depth, and feel free to let me know if you have anymore questions! 😊
@@CampingGuidance This is what this particular tent is like. If you look at other reviews of this tent you'll see that's what it's like. What models are darker? I'm trying to find one that's darker than the Carlsbad and that's available in Canada.
@@steffyincan Ah that makes sense. Too bad they don't sell it in a bigger size :( You could try the Skydome though! That gets huuuge, I think they have all tent sizes. The one I had, had a problem with leaking at the front, so one that has a screen room/full fly would be better.
@@stephaniewagner6715 I know right? But I've realized Amazon tends to do that sometimes, so I usually keep an eye out for gear I want, sometimes I can get them at a discount 😉
