Thanks as always, Joe! I totally agree with you about how well the coaching staff has done. If they land Hawkins I think this transfer class is stronger than it would’ve been had we landed Battle and Cliff. Go Cats!
2014 grad here. Nice work on the K-State content. Like with everything else, we punch above our weight with RU-vid creators. Guys like you and dalukes reflect well on the university.
If we get Hawkins the expectations jump even higher than they already were. I would love to see all the talent on the roster. Echoing most of the other comments, the staff has done a better job than I think we could all have expecting recruiting these transfers. I am impressed with the blend of 1 year remaining guys vs. multiple years. I think it sets up for success beyond on just this season. The big question is can they all mesh well together and play some team ball? If they can, the depth and talent is insane. My big concerns is when 2-3 of these transfers feel "snubbed" on the pt if we can retain all of this talent beyond just this season. I hope we can, but I suppose I'll worry about this season first. I think if we get hit with the injury bug, I like the depth and experience all these guys bring to help weather the storm should any derailments come. I was already excited about the guards we have, but can you imagine the possibilities of Onyenso, Hawkins, N'Gussan, and Achor? All of whom have had to play C but can each play PF & SF. Prior to all this, State was built for a small ball lineup. If they get Hawkins I could see a big ball lineup as I think Ony can play 4-5, the other three could all run the 3-5 if they had too. Then the guards we got are all super tall. The matchup possibilities are just limitless! I think we have too many quality guards to ever do a big ball lineup. We may have to deploy some hockey shifts. Joe, do you know if K-State has any summer experiences/ scrimmages lined up like when they did Israel last summer?
Absolutely! It’ll be an interesting situation but I feel good about getting him as a Wildcat. As far as off-season travel situation I’m not sure. I would almost guarantee we take one but haven’t heard anything yet! Thanks for watching and thanks for the detailed comment!
Cats get Hawkins we will be in great shape. Coach Tang just needs to get these players to work well together. I'm sure he will. Should be a lot of fun this upcoming season.
Hawkins would be an awesome add. With or without him the staff has done a great job of putting a great roster together this off season. The only ( but biggest thing left) is making a TEAM with this roster. We should have 8-10 players that can play minutes, which will make them very hard to play 40 minutes with a this team.
Absolutely brother I think you’re spot on with that. Once we finish off this roster then it’s on the staff to get the team working, but I feel great about where we stand!
Yeah? I wasn’t too familiar with Roddy’s game to be honest with you. I like some of the Qwan/Dean Wade comparisons in a hybrid situation, and if he’s like either of those dudes, we’re in for a great time! Thanks for watching brother!
I think that’s a very fair assessment. I’m thinking it’ll be CJ because he really offers so much versatility and would imagine he’s the best defender of the three too. Think it’s going to be a game by game situation but as of right now I feel good about CJ. Thanks for the question brother!
Keep an eye on UConn. If their coach leaves for the Lakers, their players have 30 days to enter the portal. Subsequently any following head coach that leaves
Yo joe im so very very excited about this. We need to get this kid. Give him the money he worth it. I am very satisfied with the roster we have now but if we get Coleman big 12 championship. I am very worry and concern about buddy Rich if we get Coleman. This will be a very very very deep team. Castillo is gonna backup dug, brandon should backup cj, achor achor buddy mite get push aside for Max. Then David backing up Coleman (if we get him) and then fall gonna backup Ugonna so yeah. But i hope k-state throws the kitchen sink at him.
That’s a great question. I think it’s up to Buddy honestly. I think he’s a hell of a player and competitor and could see him rising to the challenge and developing. Great question my friend!
I think it’ll be changed next year to be honest as a whole. But until it does change, there is very little reason to try and get incoming freshman in today’s landscape. Thanks for watching my friend!
Do you really think the addition is going to make them a potential top seed in the tournament? They aren’t ranked in most people’s preseason top 25. To say the jump will be that significant seems delusional
I really do. I also seriously think most writers are undervaluing the group. If that qualifies me as delusional so be it, but I think it’s ludicrous to say we aren’t even a top 25 team right now.
