Yeah I was thinking the same thing, those lifan 200cc engines are complete motorcycle engines with 5 gears, a manual clutch, and everything. Those 225cc Tillotsons tho can make up to 17hp, which is insane for a minibike. That would be a cool comparison. I really want to see a suzuki gw250 engine thrown into a minibike. They're 2 cylinder, manual, 5 speed Suzuki road bike engines and they're only like 350 bucks on ebay.
So glad I seen this I've got a knock off little 4 wheeler with a crap frame but a sweet little 100cc motor with electric starter...been saving it for something know I know what
I love your channel. And I love small engine toys. Thank to you, now can work on all my big boy toys. Thanks brother. I pray blessings on you and your channel
Building one like this as we speak. Old manco mini bike and a siezed Chinese engine off a quad out the scrap yard port and polished the head put a 30mm carb custom exhaust and performance cdi I'm ordering a 37t sprocket and hope I can get 55 maybe 60 out of it last quad my younger cousin built ended up going 44 it's definitely more about gearing
I have a 110 Tao Tao that I got in 2008, it still runs, but has to be jump started all the time. It may have been ran without oil for a few hours before idk how it still runs. But it has 1 cracked motor mount and both mounts are twisted. I have welded the mount before and it just broke in a different place. Other than that tho it has been a shit ton of fun, it lasted 13 years- mounts broke in 2021.
An exhaust cut out might come in handy for those times you need some stealth like when passing by a cranky neighbor's property or some night riding and then an open exhaust when you're in a safe place to ride. My daughter's boyfriend is fabricating one for his minibike right now. That'd be something I'd like to see Go Power Sports offer.
Pretty sure youd have to fab the forks with suspension too, there aren't any that Im aware of that can just go right onto the frame without modification of some kind
Nice builds. I look at this CT200 frame and all I can think is vintage air cooled 440cc Snowmobile engine swap with torque converter. If five hp is good, 50 plus would be entertaining. Put on a little drag slick on the back and oh hell I better shut up before I start hunting for a blown CT 200 frame.....lol.
Thinking bout doing this my with my old semi auto 3speed 110cc out of my old Chinese atv which had caught on fire and burned the gas tank and bushings but the engine and the harness is still great
Making up a plan to do something similar but with a Baja Warrior frame (or similar) but with a bigger engine, something with a built in transmission, maybe from a pit bike or one of those cheaper ATV's
I have recently found your videos and love them. Thank you for keeping your mouth clean. I subscribed right away because I love this kind of stuff but usually they feel they have to talk foul and drop the f bomb or take the Lord's name in vane. Thanks for keeping it family friendly.
I have a taotao 125 with a auto shift 3 speed with revers it would be perfect for that I've personally done 40mph on it ive done a few things to it but ya that thing would be cool they also have a 4 speed clutch version of this motor
Not all 110cc quads have that same problem. I had 2 and one was fine but the bushings are all completely shot and the other just doesn't have any suspension that works, but they both have decent frames, there is so many chinese brands you never know what you'll get.
This is my favorite build since the twin engine buggy that you fabricated from scratch. Just a little fyi...I agree with you not wanting people showing up unannounced that you do not know. Just wanted to have a little fun with you. :) Love what you do, you're a super fabricator and God bless you. I would like to be one of your supporters. Perhaps you could have a "Platinum Patron" were a guy could have his name and business name on the wall? Just a idea and question.
Reminds me of my old Honda ATC but with 2 wheels.. it was a pull start..no luxury electric start lol...or I'd push it and pop it in gear same as my dirt bike.. 😂
Put a 110 or 125cc on it and buy a 30 dollar wiring harness comes with a sator and direct plug in I did for my Chinese quad but I put a 125 with clutch
I've been thinking about doing the same thing to my CT200U-EX. I took it to Mulberry Mtn in Arkansas recently, and the CVT let me down before I even got to the trail head. I had a brand new Max Power belt, and it disintegrated after going about 5 miles downhill. I swapped on my spare, and got back to camp, but it has me questioning the reliability of this setup for long distance trail riding. I'm looking into a 90, 110cc, or 125cc semi-auto, or manual 4 up, kick-start only, with a charging coil since I have a street legal light setup. That limits my options quite a bit, but I found a few in the $4-450 range.
Good build, I can not wait to see the new engine. Gears will make all the difference. Do you know why the jack shaft set up on OE instead of just flipping the clutch, so the gear is next to the engine?
Dude, I love it! Ever since i've been watching your video's. I always wanted to see you put a engine like this on a minibike. And today I saw this video and I loved it, I just like these pitbike engines more than ''lawn mower'' engines. I've got 2 questions, Why do you use ''lawn mower'' engines? Can you make more videos with pibike engines? Hope you answer, Me
jayson springer yes you are right they are cheaper and easier to work on to me. I have owned and worked on both and to me I like working on the lawnmower style engines better
Awesome content and detailed mechanicals sprinkled with some crazy Lonnie rides & mishaps. 20mph is more than fast enough for a in the woods trail bike, especially with low end torque. Please put a helmet on your son!
Chinese are really good at making tooling to make crapy parts. Ur lil boy was off in his own lil world playing and singing.. Lol.. keep the awesome vids coming guys.
hey so what do you do if ur bike isn't balanced side to side … idk if the engine is to big for the frame? its a coleman frame with a old briggs and Stratton 8hp engine but it doesn't seem center on the engine plate … it seems like if I pull the engine over it may fix the balance any ideas ?
i was looking at the 18hp duromax engine and it says it has a 3/8 shaft taper on it it also says it has a 1in shaft....so willl a 1 inch torque converter work?
going to go on my 2 seater go kart/off road buggy would like to get a torque converter as its seems like it would get more power to go up some sandy hills
Wali torque converters cost more, and kinda eat belts. Centrifugal clutches have no torque, and like to slip. You might have to get the cvt setup. Gopowersports should have an OK priced one.
I was just given a 110cc Chinese go kart and I can’t for the life of me figure out why it won’t start. Put a new carb on it and it has spark. Can’t even get it to fire with starting fluid.
